It's once wire, that's less wiring than a aftermarket pump

I've made a pikey regulator with a t piece, some fuel hose, a bolt from a pierburg carb and some jubilee clips :lol:

I've put it on the fuel pipe for the carbs, so therefore in theory (works in my head) the fuel pump will not be stressed, and it just means that the carbs will get less pressure and it will have to force the rest of the fuel down the return. hopefully i will win. will report back

the lame thing is i actually gave one of those very ones away! how would it cope with the large amount of pressure from the standard pump though?

There made to work with electric pumps so the mechanical pumps pressure would'nt be a problem

i think I've found the problem!!!

the fuel pressure is ideed too high! having my bodge regulator on the carbs inlet pipe meant that it would run alot longer before overflowing!

i then noticed how much fuel was actually going through the fuel filter, bloodyhell it was pumping shitloads!

i then tried another pikey approach, i got my molegrips out and while it was running i clamped the pipe slightly. i noticed that it was sucking alot less fuel through the filter, left it idling for ages just to make sure, and no overflowing!

if i unclamp the pipe it overflows, but it stops if i clamp it.

now to find a regulator... WINNING AT LAST

haha! god knows what it puts the pressure down to, but i think I've got lucky, it seems to be just right! i think I'm gonna cut the bolt down so i can shorten the rubber tube. the bolt currently goes all the way through to the opposite side of the t piece where the brass bit ends :)

okay so took it for a quick drive round the block, didnt wanna go far due to the dodgy t piece ect, fuckinghell it flies! with the pierburg it wouldnt spin the wheels up at all, now it will spin up 1st easily and even loose traction in second. bring on the poloshow rolling road!

so hopefully jim is bringing a replacement t piece up my way sometime tomorrow which will just leave me with the high fuel pressure.

its still a little high as i noticed earlier fluid fairly near the top of the tubes its been overflowing from. so I'm after a regulator if anyone has one!

just went and picked up the replacement t piece off of jim and got it fitted
