1.3 8v with CBR600 carbs. what jets are people using?

Featured Replies

hey just put cbr600 carbs on my mk2 and it has the standard jets in which are 135's. seems to run alright but i dont wanna melt something.

what jets are you guys running? or are 135's fine? i had 145's on my 1.4 afh and if anything they were a little rich.

i dunno mate. my old carbs were gsx600 and r6's anyway so theyd be different. i only had cbr600's on the afh

i just wanna know I'm not gonna melt something! I've got the air/mixture screws 2.5 turns out btw.

Air mix screws only really effect idle and like 1/4 throttle ish.

You had 145's on a 1.4 16v, with 100hp standard, 135's likely be ok man

I had 16 on the AEE with no preign issues

I had 16 on the AEE with no preign issues

think i need to retard it abit tbh, on idle it occasionally spits back out of the carbs

Don't get how people have all these issues with carbs! Iv tried massive settings changes, like 10 degrees ignition at a time, 20 size main jets and it's never been at a point of back firing or dying or killing itself

I cant work it out either.

I drove about 15 miles to the RR on 135's and ended up coming back with 180's  and had no back firing or heat issues.

I keep wondering if the issues are down to poor inlet design.

Only time mine was a problem was when the float bowl breather was blocked

dunno man, has done it on all of my bike carb setups, had to retard the timing on all. remember when we set the timing on my 16v to standard? it would barely run!

maybe the fuel gets lost in the inlet haha

remember there's three different types of jet and they all use different number scales. I'm using Dynojet 170s on my GT.

You can get dynojet, keihin, and mikuni, and a 135 on each will be completely different.

yeahh.

to be honest, after giving it a quick thrash round the block, i think the 135 jets seem to suit it quite well. it puls fine throughout the rev range.

and concidering its literally a set of carbs bolted on, it seems to pull better than my old bike carbed 1.3 with the gt cam ect!

Yeap I have two lots of 125's and get a totally different mixture haha

Hi I use yamaha r6 rj03 carbs at my original 1.3 aav engine, do someone know if the original jets are good or I must to change it?

Hi I use yamaha r6 rj03 carbs at my original 1.3 aav engine. Is there someone who can help me which jets are the best? Are the original jets good or should I change them?
