Drove my mates 25th Anni TDi the other day on private land and I must say I did love the way it drove, yet for some reason it was nowhere near as fast as mine (shall have to check what engine he's got either the 130 or 150). I know his is totally standard and I know these can be remapped to see 200bhp. Doing some research I know they suffer from Choco cams if not serviced regularly, but I'm really liking them atm.

Yes ok there a little on the heavy side, but I think I've had enough of polo's now mine is certainly quick and hope to get it RR at the polo show.

What do you guys think, I've already been a member of mk4 forums, been in my mates petrol 1.8 T remapped to 220bhp and the thing was rapid!

think the anni's were always 150's mate, a guy near me has one and its running like 200hp, safe to say its got some go

choco cams are the only issue, but again sometimes you can just get a good one and the cams are fine

you must have one mighty fast 16v it the anni feels slower, the torque an pull on my brothers was great, used to pull away from my old 2.0 corsa easily. they are 150bhp but over 200ftlb torque i think, should make your 16v feel like a snail

Different type of speed. Unsociable and yet dull.

I've gone from a 6n valver this year to a strangely swift MK4 Golf TDi which has so far proven to hold it's own at all times. It was modified in the past (stereo, wheels, suspension) and has been partially put back to standard but for half the stereo and some lighting - but after a family convoy recently i suspect it's been chipped and i intend to investigate.

Still, the valver might have been a huge comedown from the MK2, but it was more fun than this thing. I hate it. Seriously, don't do it.

Hmm makes me wonder if he's got the standard 1.9 todo with 110bhp....

I will have to check the badages to make sure it was real and not just have the kit on..

i should have a totaly different interior,seatbelts and a plaque with 30th anniversary on it on the dash, seatbelts should be black with a red stripe i believe, they realy are a quick car as standard

The trouble is that the torque feels so good

As said above if it's a proper anni it'll have black recaro's with red stripes and red edged seatbelts. Also black headlining and the front lights will have a black strip instead of chrome. Won't always have the plaque in as some people didn't fit them but whoever owns the car should have it somewhere. And from memory it should also have a golf ball style gear knob. And yeah, it should feel pretty quick.
