Also pulled the ABD out today , stripped it down , weighing bottom end in tomorrow

Also are you sure the head bolts are correct as that seems way too cheap for AFH head bolts mate I would definitely double check them

So ABD bottom end has been weighed in , gear box an fly wheel are in the house ready for the AFH.

The seller that I bought the head set off also supplied the bolts, got them today , they say AFH on them so should be ok .

I will look for this part number , renegade is it , search function soon .

Update on the AFH situation, I went and bought it from 06crawford for £120, it has done 90k which is quite good considering its probably a year 97 reg engine. I picked it up from Leek Northampton-shire and it took me bloody 2 and half hours to get there from Hull. So was a long stint there and back, the women's fiat brava struggled like a mofo on the way back with the weight in it hehe. The oil was not dropped and I didn't know this, so it leaked all over the boot from the oil breather, not good at all!

As you can see in the pics I have stripped it, it is pretty dirty and will be cleaned and painted. I have nearly finished my wooden box to match the sump so I can stand it up and work on it correctly.

The sump, metal cam cover and rocker cover were sent to the powder coater's. I have them back done in black, however I am still waiting on the cam cover which will be dark green.

My 5 speed gear box will be getting freshened up at the same time, and I will be using the mk2f clutch and flywheel, I still need to obtain new clutch stretch bolts though.

I have obtained an oil T piece to fix the one oil sensor issue on the AFH engine, new oil sensors too.

I have got a new AFH thermostat housing, thermostat and o-ring, as you can see in the picture I have also removed the AFH sensor and blank, and added the 2 mk2f water sensors, so another issue solved.

I will be ordering an AFH 4-2-1 manifold this week, £174 ! delivered off Ebay, unbelievable.

Also I will not be buying another Bogg Bros inlet manifold for this conversion, as much as they are amazing, the cost of £235 is a lot considering what I am paying out for this conversion.

however I have ordered a mild steel one off stinkypete, the runners will be carb spaced, no vac pipes and the brake servo pipe underneath a runner like on the bogg bros one, also the runners will be 70mm long from the flange, this will be going to powder coater's to be painted black.

And pete is also doing me my engine mount with the conversion plate, both delivered for £130, cant go wrong ! That will also be off to the powder coater's to be painted black.

When it is all fitted, the piper cross will be on, 4-2-1, then I will go for a rolling road session again, also I need to know iff my 150 jets will be big enough for the AFH power ?

I miss my polo!! but its going to be better for the time out!

Updated, I have recieved my AFH rocker cover from the powder coaters in green, spare wheel powder coated yellow with new tyre and my AFH 4-2-1 exhaust manifold came today.

I got some more bits from the powder coater's today, desmo roof rack looks immense, needs all new bolts now.

I have fitted my sump and bottom crank seals, and sat it on the box I made to build my AFH yesterday. Today I cleaned the head, fitted new cam seals and started cleaning the block down for painting, slowly getting there.

Update on the AFH engine, I have separated the head from the bottom end. Scraped away the gasket and grime, the head is cleaned and looks great. So I will not be painting it, just the bottom end. I have de-greased it, and it is ready for sanding and painting.

StinkeyPete got in touch and has told me the inlet manifold and the engine mount plate will be on there way to me this week.

However I am still waiting on the spark plug rocker cover gasket from autopartmaster, they have been no help at all.

The AFH bottom end is now painted and ready for assembly, looks great! Also the cam covers have come up very nicely. I will be putting it all together this week, cant wait !

Lol cheeky ! Only bottom end an covers , all metal is powder coated black , rocker cover powder coated green , head staying aluminium :-)

Well Pete is sending me my inlet mani and engine mount on Monday , maybe the engine will be dropped in by the end of next week ! Auto part master still haven't got my rocker cover seal from seat , maybe I should call seat my self . I still need the back plastic cam cover from an afh , iff any of you can help

I have received my vauxhall astra brake hoses £10.62 off ebay, I have ordered my 22.2 brake master cylinder from ebay also £29.48. I just need to find the correct bleed nipples for the vauxhall calipers and a blanking plug for the master cylinder as only three brake lines attach to it.

Pete has drilled and tapped a hole on a runner on the bike carb manifold so I can attach a runner like in the first picture to attach my brake servo hose, £1.94 for two off ebay.

I have had my AFH bottom pulley powder coated in black, the only thing left to powder coat is the engine mount and bike carb manifold once I have received them off Pete.

The new bonnet was a bargain from scrap yard, £15. Its got no rust or dents, perfect since mine has a big dent in the top were a person has sat on it.

And the front metal AFH cam cover which I had powder coated, it turns out it needs cutting down so the polo front engine mount fits nicely. The line I have drawn on is were the cut needs to be made, just approximately 10 mm from the bottom.

Also autopartmaster have emailed me, they have the AFH rocker cover spark plug seal finally, I'm waiting for the invoice for the postage to pay. So you can get them still, just a bloody pain in the arse.

As you all should know. All my pictures were ,but I ran out of space. So I have had to photo bucket all my pictures , hopefully I have freed up some space , I have gone through a load of my old topics and changed them to delete also, so iff they are removed so will the pictures , maybe that will help ,but I don't know , worth a try.

that makes no difference to wether you can use the img code or not

So I have attached the vauxhall brake hoses to the vauxhall calipers with the new banjo bolts, fits well. I have never changed brake hoses before, a friend did it before so will be a learning curve, I hope they are a simple fit! Some other users on the forum seem to say they do.
