Did dubownerwilko add an oil inter cooler to his afh when it was running on bike carbs??

Probs only needed for track or fast road use.. as a daily i doubt you would need a oil cooler.

unless your pushing mega power with a charger or turbo setup :)

oil cooler will always help especially if your running it off a thermostatic sandwich plate

just aids in cooling and keeping the engine a bit healthier

Would it require a feed off the sump , an a return on the oil sensor T piece ?

feed and return go in a sandwich plate , between the oil filter and the block.

so all you would do is take the filter off and put the sandwich plate on , then the filter on that.. pipes to the cooler, cooler somewhere in a bumper grill, jobs a good un

Bottom end rebuild parts ordered off Pete £190, head bolts have arrived , £30 off eBay

Any one got any tips or words of wisdom when smoothing my bay ?

So the AFH bottom end rebuild came from Pete a few weeks a go, the engines now out , just need to start re building it :-)

I've been very busy , but have found time to start pulling the polo apart, slam panel parts are off and need to go to the powder coaters

Bumper is off

Wings are off

Struts are out with tie rods and TCAs

Arches are about empty for new under seal

Storing the bits down the side of the car lol, very pikey -_-

Bay emptied a bit more

I then removed the steering column, master cylinder, break lines and calipers

And then got the grinder haha, learning curve but is going ok I think. Bay smoothing time.

After quite a while grinding and cutting, I started looking at the electrical wiring. Figuring out how to hide it and reduce it.

I figure the best place for it is behind the wing, so I made the hole in the side of the chassis a tad bigger and began feeding it through.

Some advice on cutting wires away would be great, as I dont know what I can remove all together.

I have also ordered some new bits and pieces for fitting my new brake lines, and big vauxhall upgrades

Cheers bud , I've been looking at filler , and would imagine car body filler ,but perhaps the flexi type suitable for plastic bumpers as it flexis from vibrations ?

Also when moving the battery to the boot , is it just a case of extending the wire using thick cable ? Think I'm going to put my bike fuel pump under the car also at the tank , and fuel knock switch and ignition module in the boot with the battery. All new fuel lines , why not lol . Powder coat rear beam and fuel tank straps

smoothing of the bay progress, repeated grinding, cutting, filing and sanding. A word of advice to all polo owners, DO NOT SMOOTH YOUR BAY ! haha What a fook about, desperately need a welder now

Some more progress today, filling and sanding is a right fook about.

Here is a pic of the ledge along the back removed

I have been cleaning then under sealing in the arches and hard to get areas under the car in the bay.

And my first attempt at filling, just the start these are.

Uugghh still sanding and filling, takeing the piss now

Going to be a step closer to finishing by next week, I'm going to be ordering a welder :-) get the small holes patched up and the carbon canister hole

Has any one made a custom air box for bike carbs on here ? any one come to mine ? was pondering on having one made and feeding an air in take down to the grill, a good idea ??

I was going to make a plenum and pipe it to a BMC CDA or similar.
