I have been cleaning up the underneath of the car for a fresh lick of under seal, time consuming and dirty work ha.

I am waiting on my top notch brake pipe flaring tool and my powder coating now, I'm going to minimize down all the petrol tank piping as I originally blanked the feeds off ect as I could not access them under the petrol tank, I will use new piping for the feed and bin off the accumulator. I may put the inline fuel pump in the boot with the bike fuel pump too.

What a pain , fitting the Vauxhall brakes today , and the mk2 golf brake pads don't fit. Ordered some Vauxhall ones off Euro, good job they have a sale on , only a tenner. Can't send them back either, had them sat around for ages .

Been at a bit today, Under sealed petrol tank, this is now on and hoses attached.

Brake lines are all on and done, even fully heat shrinked in black.

Front brake calipers are on, vauxhall astra gte ones, 256x20 mm with vented disks.

The 14 inch steel wheels are a really tight fit, when I turn the wheels I can hear a faint catching on the outside of the caliper, and the inside of the wheel, I need to test fit my Ronal alloys, maybe they will have more room, with no rubbing.

This is awesome mate

I have successfully relocated the bike fuel pump, inertia switch and fuel filter to the boot, they are all behind the velcro carpet covering the passenger light.

Here is the fuel line and also cable from the battery to the starter motor, which will be hidden by the carpet, from in the boot to under the car,

Many incidents have been going on, and the car has been put back. But I have managed to get some more work done.

I stripped the rear seats to repair some stitching, and strip the metal back and spray it up because of scratches.

What your calling the little ends are actually the main bearings

the little end is the bronze bushing at the top of the conrod within the piston skirt

I did think that , was looking online for torque settings and could see some diagrams , some of them looked confusing as they all looked the same , as in big ends and little ends . So yer make sense Pete. I'm nearly there now , even put my gear box back together the other day , torqued up the case bolts to 18 lbft , just need to order some red automatic gear box oil , and clean up the head internals and put in new valve seals. The cv flanges on the gear box are tricky as they are seated on big springs aswell.

Gear box is all complete now , I have ordered some red automatic oil to help the internals last longer aswell. I stripped the head today , only to realise I don't have a valve spring compressor, I now need to wait for one to arrive .

Why don't you put a slim line sump on bro?!! Looks mint tho.

Cheers bro , I've been ill for two weeks with a chest infection. So progress has slowed . But to a slim sump , I thought about it , but I hated the car with it being low in hull , so I raised it again to normal height . So it wouldn't be needed :-)

Gear box has new seals and automatic oil

It is stripped of paint and sealed up

I have now completed the work on the head, the valves are cleaned up, and new valve stem seals installed

I have purchased the bike carbs air box for the rubbers, there a perfect fit and seal onto the piper cross backing plate

The dizzy needs adding, i dont think I have room for the strut brace with the piper as the angle is high
