yer the colour choice is out there in terms of engine bay i guess, i mean i did the red b4 i did the blue, i may change the red in the future but i dont know yet. i want to get coloured hoses too. i want a bigger engine next year aswell so colour may change, i want a 1.6 16v but i saw a nova the other day, and it that little car it had a 2.0 16 v , need to look into this lol.

the spray job was done by a friends husband at work, he does extra work on a weekend in his garage, charged me mates rates, 400 pound labour and i bought the paint, lacquer, hardeners and thinners for 150 pound, so a right deal !

mine cost £50 more than yours and i got less work done then you got a right deal there welcome to the mk2f respray club! haha

any chance you'll be getting showy wheels are you sticking to more purposeful? this would great low on some nice 13's

The 'Volkswagen' sticker at the bottom right of the selection of stickers... where'd you get that? If I was to stick a sticker on my car it would be that.

Alot of work gone into this. But some very odd colour choices, that i'm not sure work. The blue paint is far to much for me. But i dont own it Steering wheel is from a base spec MK3 polo Fox. Your previous steering wheel is a CL spec item :-) You can get 14" Borbet A's, in polo freindly offsets. They come up on here occasionally, just a matter of waiting.

that Volkswagen sticker is coming off , found it in a draw at home , is just temporary lol . And iff that's so about the borbets then deffo having them . Well why paint an engine black ? Boring in my opinion lol .

vauxhall astra gte brake callipers and carriers

shoulder bolts for brake carriers

I bought these bad boys on ebay last week, callipers and carriers off a vauxhall astra GTE 2.0 16v £35 delivered. Need to sort them out and purchase some MK2 VW golf 256mmx20 grooved and vented disks and pads, and some braided hoses from the vauxhall for them. These are the shoulder bolts needed for a vauxhall break upgrade 4 x M10x25mm ones and i am waiting on 2 M10x1.5 banjo bolts to come to attach the vauxhall braided brake hoses.

I have also bought a side fill radiator off a VW golf MK1 year 81 - 83. Managed to get a new one delivered for £80 !! unbelievable , dont even get a radiator cap either. And i have got a 10 electric fan on there, just need to look at attaching it correctly.

bike fuel pump

here are the Yamaha FZS 600 fazer bike carbs i bought off ebay. i have recently cleaned them up and have sent them to bogg bros to be jetted and have an inlet manifold made up, also including the intake and out take for the coolant, it will be 215 pound well spent plus postage.

I have recieved my yamaha fazer fzs 600 year 1999 fuel pump to match the carbs, bogg bros will fit this to fuel the carbs correctly with no need for a regulator or the VW polo various fuel pumps.

here are two pictures of the starter motor and the alternator on the engine block.

I had a productive day at the scrappers last week, got my self a new black cam cover as my other one which i sprayed blue was looking tired, i sprayed it blue so i didnt have to cover up any of the belts underneath ect.

My heater blower unit is making a rattling noise when it is on, and it gets louder when i turn it up, so i found myself one at the scrappy, going to swap it over this week when i put on my side fill ect.

Well here it is! My Bogg Brothers inlet manifold. All stamped and looking sweet, finally came today after three weeks of waiting. For the manifold, stripping, cleaning and jetting the carbs to 150, and delivering them it cost me a whopping 320 pounds ! Worth every penny though, so 320 plus 50 for the carbs, 15 for the air filters, 45 for the bike pump, 80 for the dizzy, ignition module, coil and loom all comes too 510 pound, lol fooking hell. Going to be sweet !

vauxhall astra brake callipers rubbed down

i stripped down my vauxhall callipers and carriers ready for the powder coaters, knocked out the pistons and seals. I also used a metal brush attachment on the drill and cleaned them down just to see how well they would come up, not bad i guess for painting yourself, but acid dipping or sand blasting will be a lot better, i am considering some colours, maybe gold. i am going to get repair kits and new pistons and recondition them myself, instructions are on bigg reds website, doest look hard at all.

fitted my heater blower today, the rattling noise has finally gone, just in time for winter

When i was at the scrappy i also found myself a smaller wash bottle on an old corsa, the VW pump dont fit however the loom connection is the same, so should work.

i tried fitting this washer bottle today, but it did not work. even though the loom connector fit, the water did not pump. will need to look for one where the polo pump fits, mk2 i guess.
