i'm thinking of selling my private number plate and wondered what payments have to be made?

the plate is on retention until august, if someone buys it off me what will they have to pay to put it on my car?

i sold one on ebay a while ago. if it is on retention, you need to get the money off the buyer, and then send the retention certificate (with the new owners details) to the DVLA. it costs £25 to do this. the certificate should then be sent to the new owners address.
