I'm 16 and I'm lowering my polo and putting it on some ats cups how ever the insurance will be so much?! Is there any way round it? Or any companies?

Well, considering you can't drive yet, its hard to say. But yeah, get the lube becasue anyone who has a modified car when they are young is going to have to put up with some hard, hard fisting for a few years.

I assume your talking about once your 17 and have passed your test.

Nope as Nev says get ready to pay through the nose for it. If your not willing to pay the insurance, best start putting your car back to standard.

I used to work in insurance and alloy wheels aren't that much extra to add on, iirc when i worked there 2 years ago alloys were like £30 extra on top of your overall price. I know prices would've changed by now but you can always phone around the time your due to insure and simply check, just get a quote with alloys on, if thats not too bad do a quote with coilovers on too. Worst thing you can do is put them on your car and not declare it, then if you ever have an accident, you wont be able to claim because it would void your insurance. Or pay the bit extra and tell them.

Obviously for next year, ill try and persuade my boss to put me on there trade insurance becuase i will need the car to get to my college for my appretership.

In that case make sure their trade insurance allows modified cars, not all do.

insurance is insurance there's no real way round it legally to be honest!

But being 16 and your looking to drop your car insurance is going to cost you a bundle unfortunately!

I add both parents and my girlfriend (who's only 20) and all drop the premium. Also save hard and insure annually its about half the price.

my 1.8t is £1250 with the 3 on it.. something like £2100 alone.

If you add anyone make sure they're not down as the primary driver, if they are, and they never drive it then your for it.
