Featured Replies

Got a pair of lowering top mounts, they lower the car about 10mm also come with a pair of bearings too

I believe they are from an Audi 80

do they make the top cap stick out further though?

they can, but it is solved by fitting 6n ones :)

if these are for an audi 80 then they wont fit polo shocks as the bearing is too big in the middle but they would be perfect for the mk1 golf coilover conversion for the polo mate and you would get more interest in them then and when i compared my ones of these to standard polo ones they were both the same height

the bearing does fit on the polo shocks, as its an exact fit. and I sat them next to my stock polo top mounts and they definatley sit lower than the stock ones

I'm confused how these would lower it?

lowering topcaps I've had were the actual metal cap, its a lot shallower\shorter than a standard one...

If the mount is shallower, the whole strut will be further up, making the car sit lower. The top cap is just to hold it at the top, won't matter how shallow it is, it won't affect the ride height.

Of course the top cup makes a difference. If its shallower, the bolt will tighten closer to the top of the turret, thus bringing the shock upwards

wheres the room its taken up come from? if the mount is already sitting flush to the turret? surley its just the gap at the top everyone gets that dissapears, mabey I'm missing somthink here?!

A top cap won't matter for making it lower, all you'll do is clamp the top mount which is a fixed dimension.

Making the top mount height smaller will lower the car.

Glad its not just me who thinks so!

I'll take them pm me 😃

Of course, your right. I apologise

?
