Hi all

I've had a polo for a while now so i thought i'd start a thread.

Its a plucky little 1L

it had 82000 on the clock and cost £350 so not bad at all in my opinion.

the day i got it

so first thing i did was get a debadged grill

then i bought a new front bumper to get rid of that horrible mark. (now regretting not getting a 16v)

the rear bumper also had an identical mark on it so got another one of them, also regretting that decision.

then i went and got some angel lights.

i then got bored one day and decided to try something with my standard grill

my grill trim was the wrong colour (orange) so i tried a DIY colour match, but i had to ride like this while i drove to my mates with a garage..

how it then looked..

i then took my bump strips off which i thought made a major difference

and now i have some 6n2 rears which i also think smarten it up

Plans:

- coilovers

- exhaust

- german pressed plates

- HID's

- wheels

- 16v bumpers

got myself a set of HID's 6000k!

slight update..

bought myself some LED numberplate and sidelight bulbs

finally purchased a 16v front bumper!

and the big finale.. coilovers!

Because we're the only cool kids at college..

Bit of an update..

Got myself a set of BBS 14" with falken tyres all the way round for a very decent price!

Then i set about getting my splitter back to black..

Then i started to sand down all the rust ready for a respray.

Got another sticker.. I'm obsessed

Then after a little search i found some 6n2 seats for £18! So i grabbed them straight away..

Also got myself some pressed plates and plate surrounds!

Then i decieded to have a go at some US spec indicators.. only took my 2 and a half hours!

Saw this at college and found out its someone who's on my course!

And so this is how she sits for now..

looking good mate (Y) how did u go about the us spec sidelights? just change the side light and indicators wires? like swap em? been thinking off doing it myself :-)

once you take the whole grill out you can pop the badge out. then to get two seperate colours like mine you just pull it apart and spray it seperately then pop them back together once theyve dried :)

what i did was i went to the scrappy and got two 501 bulb holders & parts of their wires from another polo and the extended the wires and soldered them together, then i cut into my existing sidelight wires and attached the new wires to them, so both my sidelights in my headlights came on but also my indicator ones came on too.. then i drilled a hole in each indicator just big enought for my bulb holders to squeeze into :)

Ah fair didn't think about doing it like that. Isit easy enough to see you indicating at night tho?

Yea! Your indicator bulbs over power the orange led so you can tell when you're indicating :)

Ha tidy last question, have you litrally just pushed the 501 bulb holders into the indicators so their sat in their?

Yes matey, I made it so the hole was only just big enough so the bulb holder would get stuck. But could come out if you pulled hard enough :p

Cheers, and it was a private seller from nottingham funnily enough.. :p so it only cost me a fiver in fuel!

abit of an update!

i had a little fight with a curb..

I bent my wishbone, steering rack and track rod end.. the annoying thing was i wasnt even going fast!

I managed to find the biggest granit curb possible.

But on the plus side i got a respray on each side for £210!

NO MORE RUST! :-D
