At one point I was thinking about cutting my firewall but just enough so an airbox could be fitted and an air intake be taken from the vents on the bonnet. I did think that if I could do it neat enough and kept the bit I removed in good shape that it could always be re-welded in.

If you do cut it out remember to keep the chassis number part!! :)

gonna use the Aldon kit buxton.. basic enough for an ape like me to use and they work with boost too.

Painted my intercooler black for mad JDM internet points

Painted the block black with Hycote engine enamel spray. Really impressed by the finish on this stuff! used a few coats of etch primer on the front of the block too.

Also tried on the derby grill and lights i got a while back, most of the adjusting screws are snapped or fucked anyway so i need some newwns before i fit it properly.

and chucked some 15x8 powertec BCWs on for the jolly

That intercoolers tiny! Small intercooler more boost were running very similar engines and specs so should be interesting :)

can keep your dizzy with the aldon kit, and use the 2f dizzy if u want, no vac pot and its smaller too so looks neater... no trigger wheel needed either literally 3 wires lol

LuK 200mm clutch kit, HG, water pump etc arrived today.. still waiting on a certain someone to send me a cylinder head and turbo manifold....... then the engine can be built up.

Ripped the 8p box out of my old breadvan at the weekend so will start getting that ready for paint this weekend if the weathers nice.

aldon kit is by far the best option when every aspect is taken into account.

bought a decent drill, 90 degree thing for it and some spot weld drill bits to hack out the rain tray. cleared all the crap from the old breadvan out the way so i have space to bring it home from my lockup in the next week or 2!

a nice K04 turbocharger, it was too cheap to say no to, but perhaps a little big so i will be using the k03-027 I've got but it may make an appearance in the future!

A pair of black diamond 239s, i think ill go for the ds2500 pads as I've heard good things about them for fast road use..

Pete's dub stuff ( a seller. ) on clubg40 sells them and febi quality, nz gt and g40 thermostat housings are the same, you probably know that allready though. Sells quite a few good bits on thier have a look

small update, had some motivation last weekend and got the old engine out as well as the rain tray, a spot weld drill made this pretty easy. although the seam sealer stuff is the work of voldemort, what a pain in the ass! pretty chuffed it came out in 1 piece tho..

Might make a start with the grinder/sanding pads on the weekend. I forgot i had a rusty battery tray though eugh..

Cleaned under one of the arches briefly too and no nasty surprises so win win :)

As said before the plenum should be done at the end of the week hopfully.
