Stefs 1967 VW Beetle (through brothers eyes),
He had been the registered owner since he was 15, so coming to 9 years (being 24now). It was his first car and was Sat on my nans drive for about 3 years slowly getting a restro/driven around. New wings, lowering it and general messing around. I always remember going there and him letting me mess around with it, I was only 10 and hearing it made me giggle. Personally know I can understand his love of beetles. He started with striping the 1300 out and dropped a nice rebuilt 1.7 in there that he rebuilt at the age of 16. All done in my nans garage/drive. My parents always hated the car because it was the only reason why he was constantly skint, but know seeing the end project they can admit as stupid as it maybe they are proud for doing it all him self.

So in 2008 this happened:





Whilst being in the army stef set about taking her off the road and getting her restro'd, It took him longer than expected with numerous trips away with the army meaning it couldn't be left on my nans drive so he got a unit.

Finally back on the road, well it was sat on the drive and stef was pulling the money together to insure her and tax. Then these happened.

A nice new release bearing as stef decided to launch it outside a mates house, He stupidly forgot to put his forged 1 in so it was running a standard 30bhp release bearing that snapped into 5 peace's . then he snapped a ball joint and crashed into a ditch and left it their ahahah!!

So Stef Finally had to do his tour in afganistan :( My heart was in my mouth, the beetle was left all snug in the back garden for those 6 months.
2011 brought the beast to the scene:








Now he left her all alone once again, whilst he went to live in Canada, He started cheating on her with a 1957 oval over there but couldn't bring him self to so he jacked in everything in Canada and he is coming home!! (thank god) - Tucked up all alone in some'1 garage.

MSD ignition with 6AL box,
Full autometer pro lite gauges,
Simpson harnesses,
6 point roll cage with harness bar,
Porches disc brakes all around,
Rancho pro street transmission,
Porsche pattern ercos up front and wide 5 pattern out back,
Chassis is detailed
Nuts and bolts zinc played gold,
Polished front and rear wheels
4000 miles on the clock.

The bug currently runs 200BHP and the start of 2013 will be a end of it being naturally aspirated, With Stef wanting to put his massive Garrett turbo and nitrous on. Whilst keeping her road legal. shall be more of a beast then, Most likely see him with me in some shows as we are both part of the DTA. Reaping air-cooled and water-cooled love.

Right bit of a update, bro went of to spar ran 8 secs on a 1/8 of a mile

Then this happened - stripped engine ready for more new parts and a service - not coming back out for a while now I don't think

So its been off the road for a week or so, haven't even seen my bro this weekend, Been to busy doing this;

Then he noticed this, Cracked valve spring so he wasn't going to get it done for action.

So whilst he is waiting for parts, The Detail begins, Cleaning and some more plated parts, A good polish and maybe even a turbo conversion have to wait and see.

If the cars sold, the engine and a few other things are going in a split bus/pick up for his new project but if not then turbo time . If the engine was to be sold built with out a gear box would be around £7,000 mark.

Soooo alots happened lately with my brothers beetle, Still struggling to see him because he's always tinkering and working :/. I have to say after the DTA Meet we had in Solihull that was a Aircooled only meet so i had to hide the polo around the corner, I am happy to say my love has grown for these motors and i am glad to be part of such a awesome club!!.

Well it was originally 200Bhp at the Flywheel, so ruffly 160bhp at the wheels now it should be 350Bhp at the wheels as a ruff figure, to gain anything over should be intresting, Best be in the 400's I'm hoping, Now as he has a pro drag box and some other bits and bobs, New cage, Seats, slicks .. defo gonna be in the 10 seconds now...
