Hey guys, I've had my 6N 2 months now, drove it for 1 month and a bit because it was SORN so I shoved it in the garage for 3 weeks until I got it taxed. Feels pretty tidy seen as it's a "S plate" it's only done 53K! I have two problems at the minute, the blowing exhaust which I was told when I purchased it. It gets pretty loud between 2700RPM - 3500RPM, my mate was like "I love your exhaust, it sounds throaty" what a tard. The second is the clutch, it feels like it's biting to far up, ie the pedal is almost all the way out. Besides the little problems I'm loving my 6N!

Here are the only two pics I have of it (for now that is).

front6512.jpg

I've already uprated my stereo from the naff JVC silver thing that stood out like a sore thumb on my centre console with a Sony CDX-GT560. I'm probably not going to touch anything else audio wise seen as the stock door and dash speakers sound pretty good with the stereo and my ipod, they cope pretty well with noisia on pretty darn loud (besides a rattling sound, but it sounds like panel not audio issue).

I want some alloys but thats without saying, the steels really bring the looks down in my opinion. I went Halfords sunday and saw these bad boys Wolfrace Wheels Eurosport Series - Assassin. I don't know which size to get the 15" or the 17" because I don't know which will fit the best.

Now onto performance, I've already looked at a few induction kits for my car and the K&N box filter but I think they look kinda retarded with a tiny filter on top of the block, but I don't really know a lot about induction systems, would I also need a hose for the cold air intake seen as the filter will just breathe in the air from the engine bay? I'd like to add a strut brace because they tighten up the frontend and they look cool but mainly for performance, I'm not one for showing off, so body kits are out and I don't care for a chrome engine bay. Lowering the car, that depends on my choice of alloys, am I right in thinking they add a little better handling due to lower centre of gravity and stiffer ride? I doubt I'll touch exhaust because I don't like the thought of just running a backbox on a stock system, if I had to I'd replace the whole system to stainless sports system so it runs and sounds smoother.

Exterior, I've seen a few pics of cars with a "cupra lip", they look pretty good for an extension. I'd like to change my rear lights to 6N2. Get clear side and front indicators (hate the nasty big orange lenses). I don't like the side strips of black plastic on the sides, seen as the rest of the car is colour coded, is there anyway they could be removed? Can you get shark fins for 6N's because I hate the radio antenna that I never use. Doubt I'd tint my windows, don't really see the point.

Side note, I'd like to get a security system seen as I only have central locking only with the keys, ie no alarm or anything.

Savoa! Dunno what it means but it jumped out at me and sounds good, in a mediterranean kinda way.

Soz, erm yeah nice colour, i'm with you 100% but for the alloys - wrong link? Surely. Gash! 15's definately, but not in those Wolfrace shellsuits ffs..

Been on nights, too much cola, just getting in there with the first bullets before you get shot down completely.

insurance? besides whatever you do induction wise it's never gonna make a proper difference to power and a strut brace doesn't add much either.

the wheels would not necessarily suit the car, something a bit more subtle would set it off but 15's rather than 17's.

This lad hasn't been raped of his individuality by the 'scene' yet.

Oh aye and yes you're right in thinking that lowering improves handling. A 60/40 (60mm shorter springs at front, 40mm shorter springs at rear) spring and shock kit will take care of that.

Wow, them wheels are dog shit mate, you'll get some a lot better second hand for the same money from the For sale section on here, nice car though

Theme wheels are terrible mate . and dont get 17's they wont look right . get 16's or under .

Get your self a nice set of coil-overs first there on ebay for about £163 . and maybe some clear indactors make the front look much better

Take a look at this thread and take some ideias from here http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=4341

The wheels were just an idea, I've not set my mind on a set at the minute. I was thinking 15" seen as I'm rolling on 13"steels and they kinda fill the arches with the tyres. I'll have a butchers in the "for sale" bit, should be cheaper too!

Coil-overs sound like a good idea, they look cool and they make the handling better if set up right. Are they easy to adjust and install?

Induction kit, I might buy one this week or next payday, any brand recommended or just get the vanilla K&N 57i?

I got two stickers for my my car today from the sticker bit of the sponsored forum, I'll put picks up tomorrow when installed.

Ordered a K&N 57i induction kit online, I try Halfrauds but they only had the filter on order for the same price as my kit that's on the way. I've been looking around for some wheels in the for sale section, hopefully get some in a months time.

Heres some new pics from this weekend after a long awaited wash!

I love my troll face sticker!

I went Alton Towers over the weekend and my exhaust was rather throaty like I had a back box on, to honest it sounds quite cool but it does need fixing.

Look what I just got this morning!

Got the 6N2 lights off these forums for £45, hopefully an easy install. I'd be glad to get rid of the massive orange strips at the back of my 6N.

Another update, I've installed my induction kit and 6N2 rears both of which were simple. The lights could fit better but I'm not to bothered at the minute, as for the induction kit it sounds awesome and feels better for it. To be honest the stock airbox looked better in the engine bay but I love the sound my K&N makes.

(my sister took this shot hence the logo at the bottom)

P1000016.jpg

Last week I had a bump in a car park, I reversed into a low wooden barrier and smashed it in half, i got a little damage (should be fixable). I felt like such a noob seen as I'm the person to blame for it.

P1000010.jpg

A pretty crappy shot, was messing around with my new camera. You can make out the barrier, I reversed to the right which wasn't as lit up so I couldn't see it then boom, damaged my car :-(

P1000013.jpg

A scratch and a little dent on the bottom lip

P1000012.jpg

This was from the next post along

My next upgrade that is in the works is an exhaust system seen as my current mid box needs fixing. A friend said I should get a straight through pipe and de-cat it but I think i'd be better off with something like this Jetex 80MM twin pipe

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Kaneechiwa, chagall blue is the best colour mate. not biased or anything 8-) i love my chagall 8v, as for your clutch mine is almost the same lol. and as for exhaust mate i woulld just cut the middle box out your standard pipe sounds quite good!! i got a custom made back box for mine and i love it lol, its so different.

wooo I'm seeing more and more chags these days! i love mine but the previous owner dented and scatched every panel pretty much! they look soo good when they are clean and the body work is neat! SamuelTorr, i love yours mate! i strangely like the exhaust as well!

Nice car mate! Are those BBS wheels? So it's not just me with a dodgy clutch then, my mate shown me how to adjust the clutch but I've not got round to it yet.

I just ask my mate about ditching mid-box and getting a new back-box and he approves, he's my mechanic you see. Hopefully he lets me use his ramp at Leicester College seen as its the summer holidays so no class so he can just work on my car. :-)

^^^They to me look like 14'' bmw e30 wheels

But it looks like a good base model so keep up the good work

So much for the Jetex exhaust system, had to cancel my order seen as they didn't even manufacture it after 3 weeks, demon tweaks said i would get it until late september.

I got bored one weekend and painted my brakes blue.

546673_10150997684786714_455116243_n.jpg

I think I'll get some coilovers now, this week I raced a few lads from work the other night and my car had loads of body roll round a little curve at 60MPH. Might get a strut brace for a little more front end grip with the coilovers.

Just order these FX AK Street Coilovers. Hopefully get these next week.

Been awhile since my last post. Since then I've took the side strips off, was a rush job at first which left loads of glue on. I managed to get it clean but taking one strip off took a little of my lacquer off.

I fitted my FK AK street coilovers which took two attempts lol. After finding a walk-through they went on a breeze, I've not adjusted then yet.

Here's some new pics of it. :-)

this picture makes my car look like its not sitting level or is that just me? :?

Next on my list of things to is tidy up my rear end. Would it be easier to get a panel beater on my lower bumper or get a new from scrappy? And hide, well fix my scratch on bumper because the white line shows up well bad on my paint job. I hate washing my car and seeing the damage I inflicted on it, makes me sad every time.

Been awhile since I've been on here, really ought to be on here more often and be more social. Anyways I've been a busy bunny. Been needing to get a tyre replaced due to it being illegal and it just felt awful to drive. I went to the BTCC Rockingham race weekend and it was a wash out, the drive home was scary as hell, car aquaplaned a little bit twice into the other lane luckily no oncoming traffic. I got the tyre (£48, feels much sharper now both front tyres have thread) from a Mr Tyre Ltd garage and noticed they did PowerFlow exhausts, so two days later I went back and got myself a cat back system with a twin 3" tailpipe. It sounds and looks great, watching the guy build it was awesome and I'm amazed by his craftsmanship! I've been driving around on one headlight for a few weeks and got round to replacing the bulb and discovered it was smashed. I think I forced it in from when I had to replace both and must of gone over a bump and smashed it, but it's all good now.

Next thing would be fixing my rear bumper

P1000011.jpg

It just looks scruffy and unloved. As I said before dunno weather to get replacement or a repair.

I'd like more performance out of my polo but dunno what my options are, thus far I've just done K&N 57i induction kit, FK coilovers and my PowerFlow cat back exhaust. I've still not got around to sorting out my ride height seen as it's not sitting level.

I'd like to sort out my speakers too, doors and dash. Dunno weather to get 6x9's on the parcel shelf or not but they do tend to sound good.

And finally I installed my silver member sticker, was awkward as hell but it's installed, nearly threw the thing away in frustration.

car had a much needed wash and I went for a drive around the countryside

Excuse the crappy drive. You can just make out the Club Polo sticker above the mirror.

My new 14" BMW BBS RZ wheels

My new alloys by Face Eator, on Flickr

Only problem with them is a vibration at high speed (55MPH+), well it feels like there moving because they pull the car so I'm taking them to a alloy fitter tomorrow to see if they can help me out.

10cm  that would be some serious poke....good progress like the new wheels...more lows?
