i fibre glassed and fillered mine, as long as you have used decent fibre glass and plastic filler then packed a lot of 2k primer over the top your be fine, mine lasted 2 years but thats because i did a crappy job first time

The pedal box problem is a factory fault, and there was a recall in 2004 to fix this, so I think VW would fix it free of charge because it's a factory fault, not wear and tear

Yeah i was told that when i went into vw they said there wasnt a recall then my friend said you have to email them and all that so i thought forget all that ill just spend my day off ripping it out and got my boss to weld it At the cost of a brake like switch -_-

Took me 12 hours bt most of that was spent waiting around for my boss to guide me n weld it but now that i know how to do it i think i could do it in 5 hours

Sorry, but seriously, the guy above? "then packed a lot of 2K primer over the top your be fine" no, primer isn't going to make it stronger, lashing shit loads on is very unlikely to help atall! If I'm honest with you, i'd rip it all out and plastic weld it just to save having to redo it in the future. I'd not expect it to last more than 6months on the shitty conditions of Englands roads.

tbh the whole smooth thing is doing my head in doubt weather ill end up keeping it might buy a new bumper

So no real update sold the msw wherls one of my hid went after 3 weeks nearly set fire to the car from an exploding power cable made a polo friend new headlights new wheels few other bits in the post
