URGHHH literally adjusted the points gap about 20 times now just to make sure. (yes i am using feeler gauges.)

the only thing different to standard is that its getting 12v to the coil instead of 9v. surely it would still run?!?!

i really wish i could help eric, i know the feeling mate!

when you think you have tried everything and nothing makes a difference its so frustrating, ime sure you will get it sorted eventually! keep positive :)

I'm pissed off to the max mate! Fucking accuspark has lasted 4 months!!

I found the old resistor wire, connected it all up, and STILL NOTHING.

Anyone know what the points gap is? My autodata book says 0.4mm but is that actually correct? Grrr

Tried different dizzy, different points, different rotor arm, diffrent points gaps, ballasts, different coil, both12v and 9v wires to coil, cleaned earths, literally everything.

definitly sounds like hall sender mate. its soo confusing when it happens. i had the same problem :L. if you need any parts, i think i have a few distributors lying around if you want them for bits?

It doesn't have a hall sender! Hence points etc!

Eric the rotor arm is spinning when cranking yeahh? Drive on dizzy isn't damaged or owt like that?

been emailing accuspark, theyve chucked a brand new kit straight in the post for me :) what a great bunch! i wonder if theres a way of actually testing the unit?

  • Author

still no accuspark ffs. so the points are still in atm.

it wont run at all though. it will fire once every now and again randomly, but then nothing.

any ideas?

Silly question time, but is the wire your taking the live feed from actually giving a live feed?

yahh I've had it straight on the battery too

Okay so. Cars still not running..

I have a new accuspark kit installed

Changed vaccum advance diaphram on dizzy as it was nackered

Checked firing order

12v feed to coil is fine

All seems to be wired up ok

Checked carbs, got fuel ect.

To get it to run yesterday i had to advance the timing a shitload and even then ot ran like a sack of shit!!

Help please..

Which dizzy are you using? The original one when it did run or the other one you tried? Drive pegs in the same place?

  • Author

Original yeahh man

Hmm firing order defo right?

  • Author

  • Author

So are you getting a spark now bra?

  • Author

Yeah shes running alright now and pulling better than before!

Only downside is I've had to extend the slots in the dizzy right to the end!!! Gimme 5 and ill throw up a pic. Ull laugh!
