Anyone On Here Work For Royal Mail?

Featured Replies

Hi I'm wondering whats the royal mails policy on parcel delivery times? As my postman seems to knock at my door around 6.30 to 10 to 7 in the mornings and hes waking my 2 young kids up.

Any info would be great.

my misses has tried but the phone just rings

Round here it seems to be the van drops off the lads with the letters to do their walk, then goes off to to parcels. So yeah, they tend to be deliverring them early. Suppose it makes sense because if they didn't, you'd only be complaining that they fail the delivery because they come round when everyone's at work.

I wouldent complain as my other half is a house wife so someones in 99% of the time. And them knocking when they do wakes my kids up which issent fair in my eyes. They must have a policy

yep and the main hgvs usually pick up and drop off at depots around 4, then they get sorted for about 6 and then they handed to each postman whos doing that area and yeah they usually start delivery around that time, you must be one of the first deliverys, go down to your local post office and have a word and ask if theres anyway they could scheudle yur road for a little later, if they are fair they will have no problem really if not just phone up head office

leave a polite note on the door explaining the situation

i'm sure they will happily hold on to the parcel until a decent time when your kids are up

I'm lucky if anything arrives.

Parcels arrive anything between 7AM and 5PM.

Letters arrive randomly.

I'm not trying to sound too harsh but the majority of the late mail shit service is temp workers

1up on this,

i do work for royal mail, unfortunatly its in the HR services for employees (pension, payroll etc) but what i can happily advise is to get a contact number for your local delivery office and ask for the DOM (delivery office manager) advise of your situation and that you are EXTEMELY unhappy (put it on abit) and that you request the delivery walk be revised or formal complaints will be made

I understand your issue, but I don't really see how you can complain?

Surely if they rearrange the times someone else will just be effected instead?

Get packages delivered elsewhere perhaps?

Woke up this morning to a parcel rammed half way into the letter box AGAIN. No attempt to ring the door bell or knock the door.

This postman is on borrowed time.....

if he knocks on door to give you parcels, i dont mean to sound silly but just tell/ask him there and then?

i think this post could spiral in to another hate for royal mail so i will close it as options on how to resolve the problem are here now
