Well I am in the process of working on my Audi pepperpots due to pure boredom and would like to know what Is the best paint stripper to remove alloy wheel paint off. I have done a bit of research and found a lot of people recommended nitromoors. This left me buying a can and having a go tonight. It's in it's early stages at the moment but would really like to see peoples opinion or past expericances with any good paint stripper.

Nitromoors is what I used. Roughed up the top surface first to allow it to penetrate. The OEM paint finish is amazingly deep with plenty of coats. So expect it to take a while

just stick with the nitro dude, brilliant stuff, i used to use it all the time on bmx parts when changing colour and it easily removes a good solid poweder coat.

word of advice, dont use in a small shed with the door shut, i ended up tripping bollocks last time i used it in the shed with no ventilation xD

yeah get them off dude, it is dangerous stuff, a drop landed on my old phone and it melted through the back and started to corrode the battery!

Ahaha. The tyres are scrap any way due to previous owners tracking. Looking at replacing them when they are painted and polished. Just wondered, nitromoors made my paint go soft not flakey. So spent time with a stanley blade. Applied more tonight to the nuks and crannies. Seams to be doing it's Job tho.

Yeah its good stuff man, sometimes takes a couple of sessions depending on the quality of the paint but it always gives you a good base for prep because youve not pratted about sanding it :)

Get new tyres fitted BEFORE paint.... dont get them blown onto the bead or balanced though.... this will save the fresh paint getting chipped or scuffed.

No but the tyre guy/machine could scratch the polished bit....

I know we're your coming from. I'll just take my care when fitting them. Should be a pease of piss compared to as I'm used to fitting low profile bridgestones to 20" wheels. It's mad trying not to damage them. I'll also use a rim

Ye a mate fits mine, but you know what some idiots are like with the machine.

Yeah man. We've got this machine that designed for comerical road car wheels say up to 17's but we manage to do 20's and 21's on there without damage but it do hard. :)

22" run flats are comical to lever over the bead, so stiff!
