hi guys. I'm gunna be putting some 165 50 15 on my 6.5j bbs rz's in the 2 weeks. Has anyone had any experience with either? especially with it being abit of stretch too?

I can get 4 nangkang ns2 for 150 delivered or bridgestone potenza's for 188 delivered.

any help is much appreciated.

I can only speak of the nankangs as that's what I'm running on my 7j same size

To cut the story short in my personal opinion they are easily good enough day to day tyres actually grip quite well in the dry the exact the opposite in the wet but I've had a few sets and they do me fine

Nankangs have more stretch than the Bridgestones as the side walls on bridgestones are very hard, Bridgestone offer a better grip rating etc as they are a premium branded tyre as of Nankangs are budget. I have Nankangs on my Audi pots (same profile) the stretch is nice. Just the right amount.

Mates got them on the front of his golf, 15x7j Ronald turbos

Just be careful when they get quite low in depth say 3-4mm

They that bad in the wet? low in depth? do they just die at 3/4mm?

nankangs always seem to stretch nicer than other wheels, the sidewalls seem to curve inwards

If you get the kangs, just park it up on the road and never drive it.

They're actually horrible. Light up so easy, and give no grip. Why bother stretching 6.5's?

In this size the price difference is negligible, to go nankang would be a huge mistake.

when i test fitted them they sat a couple mil out from the arch, and i want to keep it low so stretch is a must.

where would be the cheapest place for bridgestones if i was going down that route?

I found mytyres to be cheapest but that was a year ago.

I always go Bridgestones. Don't like the stretch on Nankangs.

I've had 165/50 stones and 185/45 nankangs. The stones gripped surprisingly well for such thin tires and it didn't matter too much if it was wet or dry, they always felt predictable. The nankangs gripped better in the dry obviously cause they are thicker but they are have a bigger difference in the wet. The 185's probably have the same grip in the wet as the 165 stones. So I personally would go for which ones you prefer the look of

Only down side to Bridgestones I guess is the same reason they are good. Softer compound so wear out quicker. Nankangs seem to last forever.

If it was me id not even think twice.

Bridgestones all the way.

Nankangs are a poor tyre in comparison, ill be getting rid of mine as soon as i have the cash. The bridgestones will in most cases last much longer - so the Nankangs are not actually cheaper.

However if you want stretch then Nankangs are the tyre of choice - and the choice is yours.
