Had a right nightmare trying to remove them and get them apart, starting to wish I hadn't bothered now too !!

Sprayed tons of wd40 on them used an m8 spline piece and the heads keep snapping on the bolts , took it steady and slowly , just no luck :(

Is there a mystical way o removing these ?

And on the ones where the heads have snapped am I fucked ? Or will they drill out ?

they will drill out, but you need to use some lube or grease else the drill bit will over-heat and go blunt.

If the studs are still sticking out and you can get mole grips on them. Just get one of those little bottle gas blow torches and give it a bit of heat. Wriggle it and they should come free.

they are just shearing off , even lube the hell out of them , as well as heating them up ., stupid things ! might just take them to the scrappers

I mean once all the bolts are out and you've got the centre out are the studs still sticking out enough for you to grip them? or are they snapping out flush?

Well was using a socket wrench , so a impact gun would work better ?

No, use an impact driver. A windy gun will make you weep as it snaps every bolt.

Impact driver is basically something that you can put the socket in and then you bash fuck out of it with a hammer. It basically shocks and slightly turns the bolt. Freeing it off slowly. Suppose you could hammer the socket before you try and undo it but if its already snapping them for fun then I dunno how much sucess you will have. I hate Polo GTI BBS wheels. They are always a pain in the arse.

I have taken apart 5 so far with an impact and not snapped any of the bolts they came out no problem. i may have a spare set of bolts if you stuggle with yours.

I will try that Tuesday then and see if I can get them loose , think I've potentially ruined this one wheel so will maybe just try get another wheel to replace it, And go from there ,

Try tightening them very slightly until you hear it free off, before undoing them then maybe a half a turn then tighten again then off another half etc, treat it like a head bolt in an alloy block. Be gentle

In your case I'm guessing they have been taken apart before, as most people don't clean the threads and remove any water inside, any water in there spells disaster as they will rust solid. I do not use loctight for the same reason, instead I use copper grease. Again treat it like a head bolt when refitting,ie clean the threads and no water...wouldn't recommend grease on the head bolts though..

Also for the bolts there are adequate sellers on eBay that have them, but they are not cheap. What you could do is get some different bolts ie Allen head in either an m7 (if you can find them) or an m8 and re die them to m7. You could probable get them for about £2-3 a wheel as apprised to ore bolt... Might be worth a shot?

Just need to make sure you get the right tensile bolts if you are replacing them for stuff that isn't OEM. Don't want them snapping. I'm gonna assume they are 10.1?

The standard bolts are made of titanium.

I would defo go with a polished lip as IMO they don't really have the same appeall if they are painted. As for the centres you can go with anything really and it will look good with the polished lip. I painted my centres in white primer then put the centres back in to store overnight and I have just kept them in a mart white as I think it looks awesome.
