OK, so this is confusing the shit out of me

What i want to do, is use the original wires etc and have the facet pump wired in down by the fuel tank. Also need the lift pump to work as it should.

I wish to bin the spi ECU and loom it has attached.

Anyone wanna talk me through how they have done it?

Does it need the ecu to tell it when and when not to be on?

lol, theres an orange/purple wire coming from the fuel pump relay, seems to go to the plug for the injection unit etc. dunno what that does?

Also a yellow/blue wire coming off it that goes to the ecu

What colour are the wires for the lift pump?

Lift pump and fuel pump have the same feed and ground.

It's controlled by the ECU.

The big red wire come from batt to relay, and relay to ECU, possible ECU power feed as permanent live.

When the pump is on, the injector is powered too.

It also controls the inlet heater relay from the same ECU control wire.

Complicated as.

So I'm guessing, fuck the wire off that goes to injector (orange/lilac)

The 2nd red (that goes to ecu) get rid of, possibly leave in place as a spare perm live?

I'd say:

Use the permanent live, and the wire to the pumps.

Put a ground to the body, and use an ignition feed to switch the relay, put an inertia switch in that wire too

Any idea where id find an ignition feed nearby? so i don't have to go faffing with wiring in cowling and dash?

Yeah I'm in the same situation mate, I was gonna use the one to fuel pump relay but need to check tings

There is a permanent live and an ignition feed there, and the wire to fuel pump.

I'd suggest rewiring with a new relay.

I swear the Haynes diagrams are wrong, it makes no sense.

It says the ignition feed is the output and the pump is wired to like ground of the relay or some shit

haynes is fucked upn tbh. there a circuits that appear to go from positive to positive. its taken me a while to decipher.

found the bit of text i needed:

you need to run the two thin wires coming from the fuel and heater relay to earth. The system will then turn on with the ignition.

Right this is just so i can write it up properly on the bike carb FAQ.... will include a wiring diagram when I'm done

I'm using the black wire (SW 0.5) goes from ignition to relay as a trigger for the coil relay, this is then switching on (GE/BL 0.5) which triggers the pumps to run.

Ill check it to verify this after work tomorrow as i need to work out which way the powers running.

I was going to get rid of the heater relay part all together? its not needed for anything is it?

there's a ignition feed near the amp .. Red wire. This could be used for ignition live feed. And also spliced off with another relay for fuel pump.. ?

Only thing i didnt realise is that the lift pump was controlled by ecu so could i use the same feed for the lift pump as the fuel pump ?

Also would the lift pump be on all the time then ? :S
