People That Clearly Shouldn't Be Driving

Featured Replies

today at work, an old girl came in and was complaining that her wheel fell off and she couldn't drive it

on closer inspection, we saw this...

074ft.jpg

075yw.jpg

a drive shaft split like a banana and a bent lower arm...

clearly from the marks on the car, she hit somone else's car as she was turning left, and because the wheel was sticking out, it has caught something, and the wheel was ripped back and damaged the wheel arch and some of the steering/suspension/drive shaft

she said that she was gonna call trading standards about the guy she brought the car off

point being, she clearly had no idea what she was doing :smoke:

has anyone else seen something similar?

Edit: spelling :retard:

Oh my wow

Thin disks and a rusty hub? :p

That was your lunch paid for then? Haha

lmao, thats shocking!

Had a woman come into the garage i worked in, saying my cars making a funny noise coming from the wheel and it had been for about a week. As soon as we got it on the ramp the suspensions spring just flopped about in the front in 2 pieces. Turns out she'd let her son use the car to pick his mates up. She weren't happy.

Floating discs?

Our NHS Trust have a fleet of Polo Blue Motions that are used by the Social Services staff, standing in the car park doing my other job and this blue motion rolls up sounding like a 20year old LDV, I get her to wind down the window eventually and asked if she checked the oil before taking the car out this morning......

The reply: Its not my car, so its not my job

So i asked her if she had done ANY vehicle checks before leaving the site this morning....

The reply: of course not, why should I, its not my car

If you'd like to get out of the car and take a look with me...2 tyres down to the wire, 2 smoother than an F1 slick....so thats a fine able offence and points on YOUR licence....

The reply: Whats that got to do with me, its not my car, why would i get the points

Well madam as the driver of this lease vehicle it is up to you to check it is in a road worthy condition before leaving site, please park the car there...

Starts to argue that she has heavy files etc to carry as we shove a vehicle unfit for use notice on the windscreen and await the hospitals fleet manager to turn up.

When he does he has the social services manager in tow and after looking at the car proceeds (dip stick was bone dry) to publicly tears this Social Worker and her boss a new one.

And then impounds the whole fleet for maintenance.

I hate that 'its not mine so I don't care' attitude. Just because you don't own it doesn't mean you should treat it like shit.

She tried to tell the fleet manager it was his job to check them.

Some of the visitors cars we get in really shouldnt be on the road.

Wow, just wow...

Some people have no idea lol

And that woman clearly had no f*cking idea :retard: lol

Since moving into customer facing in the Service Dept. rather than on the spanners, some peoples attitudes amaze me. I had a customer come in yesterday with a 58 plate Ford Focus who asked me to check her oil, which was on the minimum mark. I then enquired about a service to which she replied it was 10,000 miles overdue a service, that she'd had vet bills to pay and that it 'was only a car'.

I politely told her that I would remind her of that statement when we have to put a new engine in.........

Hehe - daily checks remind me of being a driver for Tesco

Oil - Full of water

Water - full of oil

"Hey boss - the head gasket's gone on this van!"

"See how you get on"

A week of the same conversation later, it died, properly died, and she got pissy with us because the deliveries didn't get there that day.

I literally want to strangle everyone like that, ignorance pisses me off, peoples MASSIVE lack of common sense is not good.

Wait until they have a crash and a close friend or relative is killed in an un-roadworthy car then see what their opinion is

It's the new style of discs didn't you know?!?

Have to admit thats the only time I've ever seen a discs snap completely like that... It's was picture worthy!

I have seen it before. My mate did it on his Lupo.

The place where I used to drive lorries seemed to forget that when a driver told them about an issue, the way they saw it a tyre change was a couple of hundred quid and a lorry waiting in the yard an extra couple of hours.

we had a woman come in today

"iv had a blowout on my caravan on the motorway I would like to buy a new tyre"

"Ok do you want us to send a van to fit it?""

"no no I will fit it myself"

"you will need it fitted by a machine"

"does the tyre not come on a wheel?"

Not as daft as it sounds. We bought a pair of tyres for a trailer the other week and for very little more than the price of tyres and fitting, they came fitted on wheel rims.

Did you ask her how old the tyres were first?

Tyres fitted to a caravan/trailer must be a maximum 3 years old from manufacture.

We had a trailer tyre strip itself 2 days after fitting, RAC guy checked the sidewall and the tyre was 8 years old.

Never seen anything first hand but did watch a woman in a chrylser crossfire drive towards my house accompanied by a loud rumbling noise. pulls over just past mine to see she has a flat smoking tyre. looks at it for 20seconds or so and then proceeds to get back in the car and drive off! My roads as bumpy as fuckbyet she was going more than a sensible speed for a flat tyre. braindead...... totally braindead!

I see a pattern emerging....Men can also be useless with cars!

I’ve worked at Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW and a accident repair company as a receptionist and honestly the things I used to get asked by men....

One guy bought a brand new Jag was sitting outside for a while, looking around the car, puzzled look on his face....wandered in and demanded to see the manager, when I asked what the issue was he said the car was "broken" and the "darn car won’t start". So I very kindly walked him away from the desk where other buyers were sitting and explained to him that he needed to "push the push start button whilst his foot was on the brake pedal" to start the car. He just paid how much and he didnt know how to start it?? :?

An X5 BMW came into the repair centre that had rolled on the M25, that needed thousands of pounds to correct and a new chassis... gave him the bill....ahhh thats not bad! as he is walking away " ill see you in 2 weeks i am sure it will be fixed by then":lol::lol:

Wheres the bonnet catch, how do you turn the lights on (automaticly come on when dark) lots of Petrol in diesels, locked both sets of keys in the car...

All sorts....

The steepest learning curve I've ever had was teaching myself how to start any new car. So far the only one that's caught me out to the extent that I had to ask the customer is a Nissan X-Trail, though the keyless Ford "Power" button next to the radio got close.

Bless :-)

I can understand if it is not your car but surley if your buying a car you must have a rough idea how to start it?!

I also see the patern...

This morning I was driving on a stretch of road (530 yards long) which is currently being resurfaced so it has a very loose surface, the speed limit for that stretch is 20MPH, which I was doing. Some berk in an Astra was sitting on my arse and tried to pass me. I basically thought 'Eh naw pal', sped up, didn't allow him to pass and slowed down again. Scary thing is that the car had L plates on it; I really hope that whoever the plates are for is seeing a driving instructor... Also if you do the maths you will find that by doing 20mph over the 530 yards you add a whole 18 seconds to your journey
