Completely agree Rach as I work as a tech for Peugeot, the amount of people that buy a car and don't know things about it (half the problem is salesman with poor explanations)

I get everything: how do I get my trip display up, the auto handbrake doesn't come on at traffic lights... Literally everything and the funniest one to date:

Customer buys a brand new 3008 hybrid (electric, diesel) and when you start these they start running electric (so silent) up to about 20mph or heavy acceleration then the engine kicks in. So hes just brought it so I expect he's road tested it etc and he sat in it for half hour then came in with rage face on saying it doesn't start.

Fucking cod piece! Needless to say he was ultimately embarrassed when I showed him up infront of his wife and spoke to him like a child

It's very well moaning about people who don't know about their cars, but your working with them daily and alot of people just want to get from A to B in there's. Cars are stupidly complicated thes day aswell, so I'd say it's easy to get a little lost behind the wheel of some of the hybrid types. MFAs in new cars are tricky too.

You may argue people should know about something they're buying, but ignorance is bliss for many.

Modern cars are creating this, though. Stupid technology like auto parking, anti stall, and the epitome of stupidity - auto braking.

My dad spent 30 years driving for the fire service. Not a bad driver, then. Until he bought a Prius.

So it takes him half an hour to get it to park whilst he sorts the lines out on camera.

Even going to the local shop, he spends the time looking at the navigation, so runs a few kids over en route..

Cars and toys should be kept seperate.

Amen

I can't imagine driving a brand new Audi a8 (or something like that) with all the safety features, and in a auto, must be such a sh*t boring

All the car needs is some muppet to point which direction it's going in!

So cars with a few toys = yes (mx5 with aircon and cup holders)

All the toys = no (fully loaded, auto A8)
