Featured Replies

hey guys, I'm sick of mickey mouse mirrors.

i know this has been done before but I'm wondering if anyone has a guide or any pics?

i know you have to drill a large hole in the door ect but what else?

they dont look too difficult to do, theres a set on ebay I'm tempted to buy

could just chop the screw holes off and bonder them on ;) lol

Holes in doors? Don't you use the Polo arms and swap just the housings over?

With this method you could go really low, with MK1 Sierra ones..

Lol eric. Scirocco ones look neat too, still a bit big though.

You gonna colour-code them?

my old mk3 had a set eric- looked like they had been sanded near enough flat at the back of the mirror then used 3 long self tappers, never fell off

cool! didnt notice youd done it too :) were they hard? care to write me a little guide?

i finished fitting them literally this time yesterday

i'll sum it up quickly i have no pics or anything but you said your going to do a how to anyways

1. trim the long tube off the mirror, the non-flat edges off the sides and the two nobbly bits so that the mirror base is flat - my mate used a dremel and a stanly knife

2. drill a hole big enough in the outside of the door for the plastic threaded part to fit through in the right place of course - they fit pretty damn well but not oem

3. drill a hole big enough for the bolt to go through on the inside and use a washer to help clamp it

4. use some sort of sealant like silicon gasket or whatever on the metal you've cut so it doesnt rust and i also used some on the mirror base when attaching it so water doesnt get it

5. hold the mirror on and tighten the bolt

5. snap the bottom pin off the interior mirror cover as the bolt hole lines up with it

done :)

heres some pics fitted:

Cool!! So u didnt use any polo parts? And cut off the large circle part?? Sweeeeet!

Nope all Renault parts :puke: its easy really and yeah trim plastic and drill holes basically, if your painting them I'm glad I left the pre painted ones for you now :) would have taken more effort
