Polo 1.6 Aee Project

Featured Replies

this is my second car, had a red 1.4 after i past my test and have kept that until beginning of this month.

tidy little car really ran well but failed mot on lots of stupid little things, never the less despite being mechanically sound I've desided to split it,

how the first one started out :)

over the course of 6 months:

debadged it

lowered it on springs by 35mm

added alloys ( personal opinion black and red are 2 colours that work perfectly together)

new xtrons head unit

210w 6x9s

180w door speakers

replaced tweeters with 110w speakers

fusion sub and amp

seat covers( cheap option to covering up standard seats)

and tidied all paint work and rust up

as shown in pictures :)

but at the end off the day its still a 5 door and still a 1.4 so had a limited lifetime :)

so now splitting for parts if anyone is interested in anything pm me :)

so started poking into my insurance, looking at what a open air would cost me to insure, a 1.4 16v, and a 1.6, out of interest, as was thinking of getting an open air and putting a 1.6 in it ( and i was obviously going to tell my insurance and the engine ;) )

to my amazment the 1.6 only costs me 13 pound more a month to insure :) bare in mind i have been on the road 6 months 17 etc etc, i thought for 13 pound bollocks to it i would just buy a 1.6 rather than piss about cutting shutting and changing engines. so open air idea went out the window.

had this car for 2 weeks now and desided its time to start a build thread :)

plus sides :)

came with:

angel eye headlights

no middle silencer ( sounds sweeet without drawing to much attention)

lowered on coilys

good set of speakers all round

80000 miles on the clock

clear indicators

air con ( extra on this age of car and i love it cant deny )

now for the negatives.

there are some fair patches of rust

the car has had a re-spray, but the colour code i have no idea or nor did the seller, any help here ???

the removal of the bump strips is just shody

big tent in the drivers side wing

all of which is cosmetic and none magerly expensive just time consuming :)
