Greg's Green Polo 6n2

Featured Replies

Hi I'm new the forum and recently bought a 1.4 8v Polo Match 3dr in green, before this i had a BMW e30 316i Saloon, unfortunately rust took over and i cut my losses but kept the wheels.

The E30

The car has had a few teething problems such as the central locking and electric windows not working, but i stuck the 15's off the Zimmer on it and this how she stands as of now (sorry for the terrible photo)

Hello and welcome 8-)

Shame about the e30 :(

My bro loves the e30's, his dream car is the 1992 325i m-sport convertable. He knows what he like

Defo the lower profile tyres :)

The central locking and windows is a comman fault on these polo's

Also, with the 6n2's that have normal milage on them (80k or so) the headlights seems to go dull and yellow, have a look on profile for my build thread, and in there tells you how to fix the yellow/dull lights

Grill swap? For a GTi honeycomb grill?

Anyways man, welcome, and that's a tidy looking car you got there :D

Your e30 is banging, my dream car is a 1989 BMW 325I Mtech 2 sport <3

Yours is getting along well, one thing i would say is get some lows :)

Thanks for the welcome, its got 71k on it but thanks i'll check it out.

I'd like the honeycomb grille with the lower grills with fogs when money allows, i lowered it today on 40mm springs with the huge tyres, it looks a bit silly but i want to get 195 45 15s then drop it a little more, take a coil out the rear and 1.5 out the front. I dont want it silly low, i went through that phase with the e30 and went through 3 oilpans, but that was down around 140mm front 120mm rear.

I'll take some photos tomorrow, added some MTB stickers to the rear window, just for repping really. I'll take some whoring photos this weekend. i might add my laguna splitter to it, i know they're common but i like the look of them.

Finished polishing her now, i think shes lower than 40mm but i'm not too sure. The laguna splitter is coming off after mums seen it, she made me promise not to lower it after my Zimmer so i'll just say i put the splitter on then get a GTI splitter or an cupra one.

Took a few photos, gonna pick up a grommet and dewiper the rear tomorrow.

What do you guys think?

It's quite nice! Get it lower and get a GTI spoiler ;).

what height are those tyres I think you need more stretch and less width on the tyres and then when you lover it it would look awsome.

Yeah they tyres are pretty chunky, get low profile ones.

that's fresh

keep it up

The tyres are 205 50 15s, they're straight off my e30 and are brand new, i'm gonna save for a couple of months or so and get some bridgestone 165 50 15s all round and maybe some PhilJ coilovers, i just got a bonnet bra ordered because of the amount of stonechips i've got :)

Do the wheels not rub a fair bit on the front? I had some bmw BBS' on my old 6n2 with standard tyres on, rubbed like crap on the front, especially on full lock!

Standard tyres were 205 55 r15 so they don't really rub too much, getting some part worn 185 45 15s in a weeks time so no more rubbing but i'll be welcoming back arch gap :/

I've removed the laguna splitter now, it looked ridiculous, I'm after a GTi splitter, not too sure about a Grill now as I've sprayed the badge black and looks alright. I've also sourced some cheap 185 50 15s so i'll get them on soon, then maybe invest in some coilovers to sit it pretty. After either a roof rack or tow bar to fit my bike on as I'm sick of wrecking my interior :/ also got some BBS Centre Caps for the RZ's, put them on and the next day some idiot robbed two :(
