Featured Replies

Just a quick bit of help, I'm going to try and pop a dent out of my girlfriends pinto door. Does anyone have any advice about knocking it out and heating the panel. I shall now attempt to add photos cheers Dorey

Pictures will come when I'm with my laptop although its only dented about 20cm and don't think its creased

But not cost free I want to try myself

Surely you shouldnt need help to knowlck it out? Lol

It depends where it is on the door, if it central and hasn't cracked the paint then it's fairly eat but if it's at the edge then it's a little more difficult, an would probs need filling and painting erc.

Remove the door panel and try pushing it out with your hands, I'd it goes easily then push it a little further and it should hold, don't

Use any tools that have sharp edges as this will case a dent outwards.

I've been in the body trade for over ten yrs now, have had several attempts at paintless dent removeal and still i cant get the hang of it, your more than likely going to make it worse by having a go yourself and if you make it too bad then a paintless dent removeal may not be able to rectify it, a good paintless dent removeal is around £50-£60, save yourself the hassle and just bite the bullit

There is damage to the paint as it was reversed into. A new door costs about £40 just can't find one.

if theres damage to the paint then your more than likely going to have to put a skim of something on it (finishing filler/dolphin glaze) then prime and paint it, can you do all that? if not then you need to take it to a bodyshop, unless your not that bothered about it in which case why do you want tips on how to make it right? you asked about heating up the pannel, this method is used to stop the paint cracking more than anything else so if yours is already cracked then pointless doing it, just get a hammer and dolly on it and make it the best you can without streaching the metal too much

As above, I the paint isn't cracked then it can be done this way. But if it's cracked you are better off trying to get it a little better looking then either trying to fill it and prep it yourself or bring it to a body shop as it would be a bit cheaper if you have already pushed it out/peeped it and if the door card is already off then that's less labour.
