Hi there people I joined up to this site about a week ago and I have been reading through a load of threads and theay and all going on about notching the frame I'm just wondering why they all saying his when they all look like 60 mm lowered. I go my polo 6n lowered around 100 to 120 mm and I have not had to notch my frame

notching is to lower the vehicles ride height, it allows the lowering parts room to sit without rubbing. You physically cut away a section of the chassis, reweld the cut out area to strengthen the notch

hahahahaahhah I'm running on no springs in my gti and the driveshaft is miles off the chassis so thats you are theory out the window also my sump is miles off the floor and no rubbing what so ever hahahah gti polo is the best car by far to go low with yey just thought id say dont mean to be cnut hahaha

On a side note I'm all the way down on TA Technix on the 6n2, no rubbing to be noted, so I'm not sure how people go any lower, other coilovers allow more drop ?

Whats wrong with that? its abit long on the end? so hes not ground it down? boo fucking hoo! So long as its welded reet jobs a good'un, cant see due to the fact its covered in seam sealer.

Also to add, your on stock shocks with no springs if so your probbaly only about 80mm if that so thats no epic feat?

Also as people have said, pics of this ''120mm drop" to prove us all wrong but you'll be around 90/100 on a sensible sized wheel if that.

Its not about how close you are to the floor as thats ground clearance reduction through rolling radius if anything its about the hub/driveshaft being past a certian point which is controllable only by the suspension height.

Ignoring the retardedness of this post and focusing on the logistics of your claims. I'm not surprised that after removing your springs you would have now issues with the sump or driveshafts. The damper bottoming out would be what restricts the ride height of a car with tue springs removed, coilovers such as the ta technics use very short dampers and bodies to allow them to be dropped excessive, where as static height shocks are matched to the springs. A static height shock will only drop so far before the damper bottoms out and you won't go any lower.

So you may think that removing the springs would drop a car shit loads, but in reality it won't, it will only drop it as far as the damper will allow it and this will he a lot less than a set of cheapo coilies.

So yeah I'm not surprised that if you have removed your wrongs you are not having any drive shaft or sump issues, because the car wouldn't be low enough to have those problems

I only satin about 100mm to 120mm coz my coilovers I got said they go 120mm and they pretty much bottomed out. I do rub on my driveshaft but nothing that is to major and it only when I corner hard.
