Gearbox? Polo 6n2

Featured Replies

Hi i have a 2000 polo 6n2 tdi only 42k miles with a bearingy noise from the right side. it gets worse with speed and continues with the clutch in or out. the noise pitch is not constant but it always there. iv changed the tyres wheel bearings and still is there.

Previous mots say the cv boots have come off and the one just before i bought it. Also a grinding noise in neutral and stationary which goes with the clutch in.

inner cv or gearbox?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, i emailed a specialist i found on ebay which said;

"Hi Chris, stop driving it, the gearbox is on its way out, very good description, easy for me to diagnose, they are a very rare box to get hold of, so u need to try and keep your one intact enough for sum 1 to rebuild"

If it happens with the clutch in, and out of gear, it's almost impossible to be the gearbox.
