*31k* on the clock it seems genuine to me but I didn’t get any history when I bought it.

You don’t buy a car this old on its mileage anyway - you should always look at the condition first and foremost.

1.4 mk3 golf "ABD" engine

MK2 Golf GTI Air Flow Meter

BMW M50b25 fuel injectors

Brand new Distributer

Polo Ace Chip - 8k RPM limit

GT head with the ports – ported and polished

G40 mpi inlet - also flowed and polished.

Big bore throttle body

New TPS (in the post)

4-2-1 tubular manifold

Mazda RX7 FD3S intake elbow and cone filter.

5 speed gearbox.

G40 calipers with brand new brembo disks and pads and rubber pipe flexes (not yet fitted)

lowered on -40mm springs and shocks

New Bosch battery, oil / plugs / dizzy cap / rotor arm / HT leads / new (now obsolete) ECU relay.

Interior

GT seats (slight wear on drivers bolster)

Nice and clean and has that pleasant old vw smell :)

External Rev counter (not yet fitted)

Body work

bright white new paint

rear washer / wiper removed.

debadged bootlid

Ronal 14x6 refurbed in bronze.

Brand spanking new 175/50/14 tyres

Armour door plates.

Sweet, means I should be able to get insured on it! I will contact you over/after the weekend what the outcome is after trying classic car insurance!

I pay 150 a year for classic policy. They only let me have it as I'm known by them for my 24v e21

untrue, I was offered a classic car policy for my 1992 polo......

Some make exceptions. But most said no.

G40 and mk1 auto eligible but Mk2 and mk3 they said no to any other polo.

That's what one insurer said the others didn't even entertain it. They also take into account where you live.

This car is currently on a classic and its 26. They made me feel special but meh clearly they were humouring me.

Well I guess that depends

if on the way home you decide to drive it off a cliff or through a river or perhaps maybe you like to drive it bouncing off the limiter in second gear for three hours?!

Perhaps maybe you might get to the m25 and be sat there for 20hours like a caged animal and run out of petrol?!

Or some badboy from stains might pull a jack move and threaten to shank you init breadbin unless you hand over the keys?

If any of the above then no it won't make it to sarf landan.

If your questioning he reliability of a car that has covered a (now verified) 31k in it's 26 year life. Has been treated to a new engine + parts Fresh rims and tyres and has even got new paint then maybe you might make it back is a pretty safe bet.

This obviously depends if I want to sell it to you and or if someone doesn't beat you to it mate.

If only everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagen eh.
