Welcome to the Forum.

There are several possible causes for your problem. It may pay to get the car on VagCom (computer diagnostic software), but if the car is anything like due for a major service, that alone may cure your problems, especially if the spark plugs are past their best. I always recommend GENUINE VW Plugs, which give good performance and a good service life.

It would also be worth checking (but this would be part of a major service) that the air cleaner element is in good condition, also a partially blocked fuel filter could give the symptoms which you describe.

There are other possibilities, including HT leads and coil packs.

Regards.
