hi guys i have a problem with my 6n at the moment, i was driving to work the other day wednesday i think it was fine and then when i went round the corner it just completely died and now it wont start, I've tryed petrol and starter ? any suggestions ?

any advise would be great

also like to add the exhuat has been making a funny noise at higher revs ? mate said the cat might be blocked would this cause it not to start?

it sounds like its got no petrol!

Blocked cat will stop it starting in extreme cases. usually you can remove the upstream o2 sensor and it will start.

check for a spark at the plugs and also that fuels getting into the cylinders. Maybe give it a squirt of easy start down the throttle body and see if it rours into life. This will hopefully confirm its a fueling issue

right guys just towed it home and tryed bump starting it and it fired up but no throttle it was constantly staying at around 3,000 revs but the revs would go up and down as i went up and down the box ie 3rd to 2nd any info or anyone had this problem before i dont kno why but i keep thinking it might be the cat !

right guys just towed it home and tryed bump starting it and it fired up but no throttle it was constantly staying at around 3,000 revs but the revs would go up and down as i went up and down the box ie 3rd to 2nd any info or anyone had this problem before i dont kno why but i keep thinking it might be the cat !

and if i took it completely out of gear the revs would drop all the way down untill it cut out

If you think its the cat then remove the o2 sensor and run it. It should stay running. Make sure you leave the o2 sensor connected to the wiring loom.

thats right mate it bump started but no throttle what so ever it was just reving to around 3,000 in 3rd and then if i selected 2nd it would go up to around 4,000 if you get what i mean its really strane nevr come across it before, and when i take it out of gear completly the car would just die as the revs go down
