what car is it for ?

i am in process of spraying up some 6n wing mirrors...

firstly make sure your in a well ventilated area... decent room temperature free from dust etc make up a makeshift booth if need be.

mask of all the surrounding plastic if you cant get the casing off...

sand down the paint, just enough so the primer will go on better... (only use plastic primer not ordinary primer halfords pre mixed can is £7 i did 3 coats on both mirrors with this one can)

primer 3 coats and allow 24 hours to dry....

use sandpaper or wet and dry to take out any imperfections in the primer coating

then paint on 3-4 coats of paint building up each layer lightly... go all out and you will get runs on the paint.

allow this 24 hours to dry, flat back any imperfections with wet and dry etc

then 3 coats of clear laqeur i recommend using the same make product on the laqeur and paint and again allow this suitable time to dry.

it is for a 6n2.

roughly what grade wet and dry to use when sanding the primer and colour. and how long between each layer of primer and colour should i wait for.

when you say sadn down the paint so the primer goes on better, do i need to sand down past the paint so i see the plastic or am i just taking the top clearcoat off and some paint?
