PVW Cover car 6N 331 bhp

Featured Replies

My last thread seems to have disappeared so here's another version...

Guys, this has probably been coming for a while but been putting it off. I love the car but in all honesty i've been planning to revamp the car for over two years now and its still sitting in the garage looking sorry for itself.

The car is a 1995 polo 6n with JBS converted 1.8 20vT

The car makes 331bhp / 377lb/ft

I'll sort some pics of current condition but this will possibly be more aimed at using as a donor car for someone looking to do a conversion on their 6n.

If intersted please read this carefully.

Without being a big head this is one of best 20vT conversions you will see on this forum. Its not been about for a couple of years but those who have been into the scene for a few years will know this.

What separates it from the rest? Well...

The conversion was carried out by JBS who are regarded as one of the best and with prices to match, for good reason.

Every aspect of the conversion has been carried out to the highest standard.

The conversion has been carried out for about six / seven years and in that time the only failure has been a drive shaft and smashed sump. The driveshafts were both subsequently custom made and are good for 600lb/ft torque. the smashed sump was due to me running low and i have a shallow sump to go with the car.

I have done about 15K in the car attending shows across europe with no dramas.

I have done three performance shootouts at bruntingthorpe where the car reliably ran sub 5 second 0-60 times with a best of 4.8 secs proven!

As a package this really is a stonking engine / setup.

Nearly everyone puts a remapped 20vT in and plans to make the upgrades later but mainy fail to do so, not in this case.

It was built properly first time around.

This was the first 6n polo to run dbw vvt, so much better (and harder) than to run a throttle cable

The engine is a low mileage S3 BAM 225 block with a large port AGU head

The car runs a IHI VF34 turbo

port matched 225 inlet manifold

3” Air Mass Flow Sensor

Custom 3” Downpipe and Exhaust

Custom Boost Hoses

JBS Custom Engine Mounts

Front Mounted Intercooler

4 Bar Fuel Pump

Custom-Code Phase 3 software

Green Dynatwist Intake

The transmission is a 02J 5 speed box with quaife ATB diff, G60 flywheels with Helix clutch

The car utilises the full S3 engine loom including clocks and ECU. Basically all sensors etc are there as per an S3.

It is super reliable, NEVER had a running issue, runs and drives like a stock 20vT only faster

It has G60 front brakes with uprated disks and pads, polo gti rear disk conversion

KW Variant II coilovers.

The list really does go on and on.

To make the show car again it would need a couple of grand spending on it (being very honest) on some bodywork and paint.

Comes with (or without) lots of spares detailed below.

Like i said at the beginning, the car would be ideal for someone who wants to keep their car and convert it. A conversion to this spec by JBS, PSI or any of the top companies would still set you back the thick end of 10K so you can imagine what it cost 7 years ago.

If you priced up the bits it has over most 20vT polos you'd cover most of the cost ie: turbo and all associatd bits, downpipe, mapping, diff etc.

As it stands

I've seen something else i fancy so this is now getting pushed for a sale.

I tax'd and insured the car about 6 weeks ago now so fully on the road and i have used it a little. In the 6 weeks or so i've had it back on the road properly i've done about 70 miles which i feel proves how little i'm realistically going to use the car so.......

As it stands now with stock panels lighting etc £3600 drive it away (if you bring wheels ;) )

If you want as a conversion £3200. For this you'll get basically the whole car minus brakes suspension and trims

Tempting mate, thinking of breaking the whole car and using the engine in my mk2.

If there is enough interest in the car parts i'll break

Ash

I witnessed the performance of this Polo at Bruntingthorpe (PVW Shootout)

mind blowingly fast!! would be a great shame to break it.

Good Luck with the sale and I hope it falls to a true enthusiast 8-)

If people are interested i'm putting up ads for:

In-pro clear headlights

Projector headlights

Bonrath de-badge grille

Gti lower splitter

280mm Momo Team steering wheel with snap off boss

The ads will go in the parts section tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled if interested. Some of these parts are no longer available

Ash

Any video's of this?

  • Author

Not really any good ones. If you type ITB R32 Vento tunnel blast in youtube there is a clip of me and garthe spiller on the way to MIVW a couple of years back.

Had a few pm's about current pics so here we are.

The smooth tailgate and bumper with recess have been sold so i have put a stock 16v rear and semi smoothed tailgate with shortie plate recess.

As you can see the bumper needs a bit of work to make fit nicely but its safe and securely on there. Stock wings and bonnet are fitted but do still have the others if required

Paint on all replacement panels is quire scratched so does require work as previously mentioned.

NOT willing to split tailgate at the moment as i do not have a replacement

The car now has a fresh 12 months MOT :-D

Also just fitted stock dragon green tailgate and top half of 8v bumper in dragon green so all road legal and ready to go.

Tax until end of december

£3100 drive it away with your own wheels.

I'm sure you don't need new pics to see what the above additions look like but if you insist send me your email address as photobucket is not loading properly for me to add pics
