Just looking into something and came across this, I know it says it was produced in Africa but I was wondering if anybody had seen/owned one that had been imported or whatever?

Looked on google images and they seem a lot more along the lines of the SEAT

Just looks like a 5-door Seat Ibiza with a Polo front end. Probably wouldn't be the hardest thing to replicate, MK4 Polo estate/saloon parts might fit the Ibiza front end?

Yeah its a Seat Ibiza, with a variant front on it you'd have a pretty accurate replica. That is, should you want to..

They still had the MK1 Golf until recently, now that was worth importing! But not financially, given our legislations and the extensive modifications required to get it road legal here.

They have some strange versions of Polos and Golfs in Mexico as well

^^ And all over the world, i particularly like the chinese MK2 Jetta of recent years with modern-day facelift.

And just general differences throughout the other markets - check this Golf out..

I didn't know if I liked it or not, think we should get some of the more funky looking ones over here, that golfs not too bad looking.

Bet it's a ball ache to import a car + probably costs a lot I guess

What sort of mods would be needed then Mikey?

literally just saloon/estate polo or caddy front on a mk2 ibiza. panels off, panels on. job done.

i might have the estate panels available soon if i get my way!

i quite like it but i cant say the same about that golf just looks to round at the front

The golf is just wacked, it's such a strange difference of a common car to me it messes with my brain.

It's like an inside out sandwich, does exactly the same thing but looks messed up and only leaves one question WHY DAFUQ?

Just when i thought i'd seen it all. The Playa pops up. Had a look for some more pics. The back end is different to the ibiza. Its like a mash up between the early spec and late spec ibiza 6k's. The tail lights dont cut into the tailgate (as early spec) and the number plate is in the bumper (as late spec) Tailgate would be good to make a smoothed tailgate on a pre facelift ibiza 6k over here. Just remove the VW badge :-) .

I'd own one based purely on its name.

Bitch look at my Polo Playa.
