Will 15 inch wheels be ok on a polo 86c coupe

Hi I'm thinking of getting some 15 inch wheels for my polo 86c coupe and was just wandering if they're gonna be ok for it . thanks

Depends mostly on tyres.

You'll need 195/45s or smaller, some people I've seen running under 185-width tyres and a lot of stretch to get them on.

15x6 fits easily, 15x6.5 you'll get some scrubbage on the back without stretch, above that and you'll get scrubbage up front too unless you roll the arches. They do fit though.

lowered 80mm on my old mk2 with 15x6.5's (iirc) and 195 45's and no scrubbing at all. arches werent rolled either.

Ask yourself whether it will look any good though. 15s on mk1, 2 or 3 can look a little big imo.

thanks all its lowered by 60mm at front n 40mm at back and i am getting streched tyres for them aswell

My old 15s rubbed on the rear arches at the front until I rolled them, then I got different tyres and they rubbed on the spring platform so I had to space them slightly to clear that. They were fine afterwards, though. That was on 15x6.5s, ET35, with 195/45 tyres.
