I'm pleased to introduce to you Ron burgundy :). I swapped this don for my tdi golf. he's got 103k, he's a 1043cc 4 speed lol, plenty of tax and mot and the bodywork isn't in too bad of a condition either. I needed an indian red mk3 in my life, so i took the gamble! The only downside to him is the pretty savage key marks on the drivers side which some arsehole obviously did.....

Even though i owned a g40 for 2 years, i never had a build thread ha so it's about time i started one

Here's a couple of pics of him i took earlier after a decent clean, i don't know what the fuck the wheels are all about, a disgusting tyre choice to say the least haha. Also the previous owner lowered the rear and i don't think he could do the fronts so left them which gave it some savage rear rake....not to my liking!

The plan is to sort the bodywork out first, i'm already going to get a quote tomorrow afternoon for the key mark, the dent and various other dings. The bonnet has a bit of lacquer peel and theres a small dent in the sunroof which i will sort after wards..

Todays progress included fitting stock rear suspension, stain removing the headlining, glass cleaning, linseed oil all the exterior plastics and fitting steels. I got a few of the boys round to help me do all this :-D.

I'm just really happy to be driving an old polo again after owning my tdi golf, dabbling in the jap scene with a vtec civic, theres nothing quite like rolling around in a polo, even completely stock, i'm glad to be back in the scene!

Today update, popped to toby's to do the work as he was messing with his, also our main mukka Dom came down. I stripped the dash out and couldn't find this rattle for shit, got a magnet in the bulkhead holes, everything, put it back in and had a tidy up in the bay. A couple of hours went by and i decided to take it out again, (thanks Dom), still nothing. Turns out its the bonnet hinge, inside the rain tray section where heaters are. it slots over a pin and a clip holds it in, the hole has worn over the years and has play in it. At least i found it.
