Insurance rape from a non fault accident.

Featured Replies

so geezers my 6n2 got written off last month and I'm looking around for others cars however I'm being raped for an accident that I in no way caused and have no liability for is there a way of not being raped for something which lets face it was a major inconvenience to me, wasn't caused by me and has left me with back pains and no car.

Well shopping around is all you have - but unfortunately your now the sort of terrible driver insurance companies hate - you drive or park in such a way that other drivers are prone to hit you and to make matters worse, you are the type of cad that makes a claim!

happened to me a few years back -i had protected no claims so it gave me a discount on what became a inflated premium.

surely an explanation of the accident would clear up my skills where someone hit the car behind at lights which then hit me, so he was too close to me.

Not all (in fact very few) insurer load for non=fault (settled) claims.

Has the claim been settled yet? In my experience it's guilty until proven innocent with insurance claims!

it has been settled, I have the money from the car being written off in the bank already. there was never any question as to whether I was at fault, as a car hurtled into the car behind me at lights slamming the car behind into me which even though I was on the brakes and what the highway code calls a safe distance away from the car in front (when stationary, you can see the rear wheels of the car in front) hit the car in front. throughout the dealing with various insurance companies both mine and the third parties at no point was it suggested that I was at fault so it was never assumed I was at fault and I didn't even see the car hurtle up the road.

the basis for this topic is viewing various quotes on comparison websites (terrible I know, but I usually call to get quotes but not many firms do quotes at unsociable hours on the telephone. I was looking at a 1.8 Mazda MX-5 using my current details (20yr old 3yrs NCB) and at £900 it actually worked out cheaper than the 1.4 polo I had, I then added the accident it shot way up to £1300. the only hang up is a personal injury claim that is processing through because of the terrible whiplash acquired during the accident. When Payday arrives I will be able to buy a new car and just swap the insurance over until renewal (hoping that Adrian Flux will not hike the premium up for what is less than 2 months insurance), which I will then look around for the best deal and be 21 with 4yrs NCB. Maybe it's just a comparison site thing where they hike premiums by 40% if you have had an accident of any description?

Bear us in mind when you do the final shop around. The trouble with comparison sites is that there is no human element in the equation.

I certainly will I just need to find a car, and wait until renewal. thanks for the help

Did the car in front of you claim from your insurance for their car's damage though? That's what happened to one of my friends in that situation, and that's what stung him on insurance unfortunately.

nope all claimed off car number one (at the back) he tried to claim that number two had hit me first then he hit number two to share the blame and all went through to his companies insurer aviva. I spoke to Flux today about swapping my insurance over to my sisters car and it wasn't bad seeing as its a 1.6 Focus.

I've had a similar thing with our insurance car in front rolled back and tapped our car with my missus and one of me four kids

only damage was a screw mark on the bumper .women in front claimed for whip lash and stress got paid out .was 2 years ago

had a bloke ring up today saying theres £1500 waiting for us for hospital stay and the fact my boys been off work for a month with a bad back

and neck injury due to this crash and also cant drive .hes 9 years old lol and we lost the fight and cost us 5 years of our no claims bonus its ajoke

It sounds like I got lucky then, but I suppose with it being a multiple vehicle accident and everyone pointing the finger at one guy (also one was a off duty policeman) the blame fell squarely on him.
