good news side of things.. got my self some orange bulbs for the front indicators so I'm all legal again :) didnt realise it was so hard these days to get non offset pins!!!

went into hellfrauds for some indicator bulbs, thought that was a dead cert!! NOPE!! universal cage for a fusion headunit, NOPE!!! and it was a long shot but spigot rings? NOPE!!

3 isles of cleaning products, isle of air fresheners, and an isle of windscreen wipers though.. moan over.

looks like a 40mm drop that, needs another 20/30 on the front but the rear looks ok as it is

dont worry about the claimed numbers, people always say are you sure thats 70mm to me but i know mine needs lowering still, I'm not bothered about the figure i just want it to look good

what are the options on lowering the front .. got lowering top mounts.. but they can only do amount 15mm?

haha yep! thats why i thought it was a cracked rear cluster.. but that didn't stop it.. as far as i can tell it does seem to be really common.. and really annoying as I'm not fond the damp car/boat smell... ever get any idea of where it was actually coming from? iv vaserleened the boot seal to see if that will help guess it will just be trial and error.

I never noticed any damp smell, just get an air freshener if it bothers you.

If you open the bonnet and follow the bonnet release cable up the right hand side of the bay to where it enters the interior, (at the opposite side of the scuttle panel to the battery tray) you will find that there is a rubber grommet that seals the interior from the water that lays up in these areas of the scuttle panel. In your case (and my case) the rubber grommet will be cracked and perished, and the steel surrounding it will be rusted.

same place (i think), thankfully mine is'nt rusted.. there is just a gaping hole with two wires running through it... no grommet at all!!

iv put a small drain hole into the engine bay to stop any water pooling in there like it has been. hopefully this will help with the general issue as well. covered the hole with some blue tack for tonight and used a fan heater in the foot well. last thing id want is the floor pan rusting out...

any one know where to get these grommets from, or the name of them, part number or if this is more universal, can i get a grommet to fit from halfords?

Unfortunately the tyres have some rubbing issues with the arches :( :( I know I can roll the arches an or trim the inside lip.. How do you roll a straight arch???!!

Also does anyone know how easy it is to change the rocker breather pipe.... Mine perished beyond belief!! A johny would actually be better. I can obviously see when the pipe starts does it feed into the air filter????
