mk3 golf elbow info needed please

Featured Replies

Hi I'm wanting to do the mk3 golf elbow switch to ditch the pancake but I'm unsure and probabaly over thinking things here..

so far i understand i need the 1.4match elbow to fit my 1ltr, seems hard to find at the moment but I'm sure one will turn up if i keep on pestering the local scrappy!!

for the pipe that comes out the front of the engine ... what do i do with this?! fit a breather? blank it off (guessing it needs to be there though as other wise why is it already there?!?!!)

any info or advice would be great.

thankyou.

build thread is here if you interested:

there are 3/4 types of golf elbow, the most common has a port underneath it for the breather pipe (dont block or kink this) or you can use an oil catch tank and fit it into that and then pipe it back to the elbow (keeps everything cleaner)

when you find one you will need to remove the 3 studs on your throttle (or get the extension bolts off the golf) and fit bolts to hold the elbow.

thanks do you know if it is possible to use any other elbow apart from the 1.4?
