Gone low

Featured Replies

Got the lowered suspension kit on. Supposed to be 40mm all round, but I think the back has gone lower than that. I like it though and it handles like a go kart. Stiffer suspension took its toll on the exhaust mount though and the rubber gave up. Have got the new ones.

The front still looks stock height to me :disgust:

Hmm.....

No, front is definitely 30mm lower and settling. Measured the wheel arch height before and after. Didn't measure the back though.

Well done

Pics like that prove why 60/40 is the most popular.

mine sat like that with 80/60 on the front, just chop the springs!

In before cool story

But seriously, cool story

Low? where....?

Cut the springs dude!

Think you uploaded the before pics dude?

you got mugged off, if it sat like that there is no chance they were 80's

The rears are normally adjustable if you wanted to sort the reverse rake out.

Lower the back some more dude! 8-)

How are the backs adjustable??? Mine seem to have 4 grooves in them with a steel ring positioning the spring. When I fitted them it didn't appear that this ring could be moved to another groove. I did have a bit of a fiddle but didn't fancy trying to open the ring up and then squash it back again in another groove.

If they are adjustable please let me know and I will level it up.

You've got it sussed already dude, just move the ring to different grove - can be difficult but it will go.

What was the height before you lowered it?

Low, Yes indeed

Wasn't an 80 kit then, did you check the number on the coils that it was the right one?

Just saying cus I had this problem, I got sent the wrong kit.... Get confirmation of the part number on springs.

No need to feel for me, and I am no Kid. I bought a 40mm kit to get better handling and slightly improved stance, not to make a land boat. Going 80mm will produce an unuseable lead sled that will only look good in a fast fod car park. I want a handling fun car that I can use daily and run in autotesting and road rallying, preferably for less than £500 and so far it's working. Looking at adjusting the rears, think they may be set at -60mm and -40mm will give a much better balance and improve liftoff oversteer.
