No reverse light or rear o/s indicator

Featured Replies

Hey, the other day I noticed my reverse light doesn't come on, so I took the lens and light cluster out, (n/s) and the bottom pin on the connector is very corroded, I don't have a wiring diagram, but could this be anything to do with the reverse light?

Also, on the other light cluster (o/s), the indicator doesn't come on, and the relay clicks fast, which I assumed meant a bulb out, so I switched it with the bulb from the other side, but it still doesn't work, where as the n/s works fine

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Clean all the pins and the bulb holders (round the sides and in the middle) and check for corrosion in the plastic connector. Once they are all clean check if they work, if not then check the ground points, these should be somewhere behind the tail lights, if they are corroded then clean all the faces and the retaining nut.

Thanks, the bottom pin/contact on the plastic multiplug on the n/s light, is really corroded and wouldn't even clean up, the o/s indicator that wasn't working, is now working from me switching the bulbs over again, and now everything works except the reverse lights

Most probably the corroded pin is the cause. Try scraping the surface with a thin flathead.

Also, should have said earlier, have you checked the fuses?
