Hi everyone, picked up my new wheels last night! what does everyone think?

they're going to be going onto my mk3 polo coupe.

Cool story thread, this is gonna need some assistance..

Nice wheels, and they grow on you after seeming a bit dull at first, so we need pics of various angles.

Well i ran them on mine for a while, mine had been polished but after experimenting with the finish i painted them black and diamond-cut the rims.

Not a lot of people know this, but they're bloody strong because they're forged. They'll out-survive your suspension arm if you get it wrong. They're also annodised instead of painted/laquered, though it looks like the annodizing has been removed from yours.

First fitted to the red one..

Then when i first re-shelled it..

Then during the tidy up..

Anodised? Mine were painted and laquered and it was so thick and tough it could only have been a factory job

the 1st picture of your comet blue looks fooken awesome! shuda kept the stripes!

Factory painted VW wheels i've had have never had thick paint! It was popular to paint them after the coating went dull.

There may have been a factory painted version of the 6x14's but i don't know of one (the 15's on the Golf cab Rivage weren't annodised they were polished, but they're different wheels). That's why the centre caps are ally on the 14's.

I was gonna diamond cut the whole wheel, the centre cap being ally, but i thought it'd look too bling with the metallic - not a look i wanted.

I did the stripes the first time because it looked so bad at first, the GTi style seemed to cover it well.

I did put them back on after the respray for a while (and it's whilst considering re-striping it lately that i came up with various designs that led me to the Red Bull livery it'll sport at GTi fest).

Shame the pic was for the reflectors, and the pic with the worst reflectors is the only one i still have.

Think i'm gonna have to stop the whorefest now, wanna see some other examples without crashing the 3G network..

Cheers dude - i should just add that my red one was a coupe, the one pic of a red breadvan on the 15's isn't mine i just threw it in to show the 15's.
