Firstly i appologise for making a new post but after searching for ages i cannot seem to find the answer...

I have taken off the driver door card and located the 3 wires that go into central locking pump. My intention is to add an octopus rcl kit from ebay, i understand i have to cut one wire... A green wire goes on 1 end of this and a white wire the other end.... But it doesnt say what standard wire to cut for this... Then on the 2 remaining wires it says add and orange to one and a pink to the other... The standard wire colours in my car for this are red... Red/black and brown... Any help would be very appreciated.. Many thanks

Dude, i think the central locking motor is in the boot on the drivers side not the door.

Not sure what an octopus rcl kit from ebay is, but is it like just a remote central locking kit that locks and unlocks the door and is not an alarm?

If so, looks like the same as what i've bought and about to try and fit - may be this evening time allowing.

Looks not too different to what I bought. I'm about to give it a go. Looks like I'm gonna have to cut and splice / join the wires in the car end as mine doesn't have the end connectors.

Are you doing it in the boot or from the wires in the door? I was under the illusion that if i connected it to the wires from the door it would trigger the pump as if the key had been turned.... Making it easier to connect the led to the dash and wiring up the indicators to flash (only part i can cheat with) as there is a disconnected alarm that already has the indicators wired up.

Was planning to do it in the boot, it's how all the pros seem to explain how it is done and the module you have bought is supposed ti be connected to the motor in the boot afaik.

Ahh ok, guess will have to try do the same then. Has your kit got the same colour wires as mine? If so can you post pic with where to ad them when you get it working, and do i just extend the wire for indicators to the engine bay? Also to be a Pain do you get the live from the boot aswell? It would be so simple if they sent instructions saying what colours go where rather than just a diagram of there colours added to black lines :/

Il try to remember tomorrow and get a pic of mine as I have a similar kit wired in, it is the pump in the boot you needed to wire it to (drivers side )

Not sure either at this stage where to get the live from.

Indicators... Id have thought as they are right there near the pump, just to take the cable to them from there? Not go all the way up into the engine bay, i don't see the need.

I'll try and post up a picture later of my wires.

good question. At a guess, i'd have said just that "side" so from and rear lefts and front and rear rights if you get me.... but i guess we aint gonna know until one of us gives it a go. Not sure when i will get the chance to have a crack at it.

This is mine....

The other end of the cables is just that.... cut off cables which means the relevant ones have got to be joined up to the cables that are in the car where they plug into the central locking motor.

I understand that black is earth and red is power.

I dont know which wires in the car to hook up to these cables and which to attach to the central lokcing motor itself. What a nause!

As you see... here is a picture of what you will find in the boot behind the panel.

I have no idea what to do at this stage. In the other guide on here, the kit that was bought doesnt need any joining / undoing of cables as it has the end ready to plug into the motor, which makes it much more plug and play.

In the above picture the Colorado needed are;

Red/white - constant live , this goes to red on the remote locking harness.

Thick brown (next to red) - ground, this goes to black on the harness.

White/red - iirc this is the lock wire, this should go to the lock output on the harness usuall yellow.

White/black - iirc this is the unlock wire, this should go to the unlock output on the harness usually yellow/white.

That is all that is used on the pump wiring, you may have to connect one or two wires from the remote locking harbess to the red/white wire to provide a positive signal to the outputs. Can't ditermin this without the diagrams though. You will most probably have a brown wire (hopefully two) these are for the indicators, and can either be connected to the wiring of the rear lights or using a small female spade connector you can connect them into the rear loght bulb holders. If you only have one brown wire then you will need to use a diode (1nf1504?) and solder this to another piece of wire and connect that to the other indicator.

You may have outputs for window roll up and boot pop etc but these usually require a relay or control unit.

Very helpful cant wait to finish work and give it ago, thanks everyone. Only diff i remeber is my indicator wire from rcl unit is 1 yellow wire.

Ok have got the power connected my wires are a different colour and my wiring diagram shows i have to chop a wire and put a wire on each side of the one chopped wire,
