Hi all newbie to this forum, I have nearly finished putting a 1.4 16v in my bros polo but just got a few plugs left does anyone reconise them if so that would be a great help cheers

Guessing the middle one is diag port wire but where does it go?

This one is worrying me as it goes to the immobiliser box.

Second pic down the "RED" connector is for the headlight range control adjuster

Was the donor engine, loom etc out of a polo? If its from a golf erc then you may have different wiring.

An estimate would say the brown connector is a grounded wire and red is infused live? And grey I think may be a lighting feed?

Thanks for the replies guys sorry it's a 1.4 16v from a polo 98reg. I had the whole car to strip as it was rotten so removed complete wiring loom all fuse boxes as they were different to the 1.0 wiring that was in the car. Engine is all in now as starts ok only thing is the revs are going up and down from 1.5k to 2k at idle and won't go below so I'm guessing its got a small air leak somewhere. Is there any common areas to look at or would you say its not down to a air leak

The idle issue is either an air leak (check all the small vac hoses around the tb, and spray easy start at the tb/inlet join to check that for air leaks), or it needs the throttle body resetting. You can do this with vag com or the easier way is to disconnect the battery for half an hour or so

Not 100% on the 16v but certainly on the 8v's the temp sender is a common failure. If it is the temp sender the ecu should compensate slightly after a while and it should get a little better but it is still a good idea to change it regardless, as it's only around £10.
