1.3 gt power gain?

Featured Replies

i've just got myself a mk3 polo coupe 1.3 gt and was wondering if anyone could help on how to get the most power out of it and whats the most i could attempt to reach?

i was going to get a 4 branch and a decat and port and polished head and thinking about lightened and balanced fly wheel but is there anything else?

1.4ABD bottom end

4 branch manifold

Ported and polished throttle body

Chip

Better camshaft

Air filter

G40 exhaust system/ stainless

Ported and polished head

Lightened fly wheel

Bigger injectors

Bike carbs

Bigger engine

G40 exhaust system/ stainless

This again! Why would a stainless system provide more power? :retard:

Ok leave a pee shooter in the car with holes innit! ;)

Because of the construction of stainless' grain structure creates an effect on the exhaust gases which pretty much give them crazily excitable orgasms which makes them uncontrollably accelerate down the exhaust faster than that of mild steel

ok I'm in the same boat, faq aint that helpfull, I've got a gt with 4branch straight through to standard backbox, 7.3 chip and pipercross panel filter, what things make the most differnce, dont want to get bikecarbs or 16v thanks

also found this on a website.....

mk3 polo GT pistons in a golf 1.3 give you 75bhp straight away. Combine that with a good high lift cam, vernier pulley, exhaust, decat (*with bigger ports on exhaust manifold*), and a quality induction kit that is enclosed to only let cold air in then you've 102bhp (I know - I've had it.) Then magnecor leads, plugs and Cossie Adj FPR set up on RR give you 113bhp and 111lb/ft. Then a head flow can give you, ported inlet manifold, port matched to each other adn slightly flowed TB can give you 125+bhp (I had 132bhp set up properly). Easy and without going to fuel sapping carbs! Then the GT blew its head gasket and I bought a G40 , nuf said!
