First of all iv been a bit lazy and just copied the guys add who i bought it off, but its pretty much the same so here goes.

My wife has decided to let her polo go. The reason for sale is we are expecting our second child and with my wife being heavily pregnant she is having difficulty lifting our son into the back. We have purchased a T4 caravelle so this is surplus to requirements now.

My wife absolutely loves this car; she commutes a 60 mile round trip 4 times a week in it. It is amazing on fuel with 65-70mpg making a regular appearance. Exactly what people need with the ridiculous fuel prices? I think people will be surprised at how well the 1.4 TDI PD pulls (I certainly was) it has no trouble on the motorways and if I'm honest feels like you are driving a much larger displacement TDI. It is mechanically sound, backed up with a massive service history with 90% of it being VW main dealer or a VAG specialist. The toothed belt has been changed and a new clutch and gearbox. The mileage is at 173K and will not rise now due to having the caravelle. I am never put off by mileage on a VW diesel; if well service they go on forever (my Passat is on 194k and the caravelle 205k). This one has certainly been well looked after by previous owners and myself. The car has always received PD specific oil (5/30w).

The outside of the car is also very attractive, with it having a very close resemblance to its sportier stable mate, the GTI! The only things missing really are the xenon headlights, the lower honey comb grills and splitter, side skirts to make it into a true replica.

As you can see it has the GTI grill, GTI upper boot spoiler (brand new 3rd brake light from VW), the GTI specific BBS split rims which have recently been powder coated, polished and shod with new tyres and lastly it has a German stubby R/H wing mirror.

The wheels could do with a rub down and an autosol to bring the shone back up and i will supply a 5th wheel split ready for refurb.

Inside it is 100% standard black and red trim in very good condition. My wife does not smoke and the rear seat has only ever been used for a car seat. It is also fitted with genuine VW fitted floor mats. No speaker holes anywhere just 100% standard. Sadly the passenger seat does have a slight tear but this never botherd me.

it also has a jvc head unit and an active sub in the boot.

It is MOT'd until May 2013 and the tax is up in november 2012.

Overall a lovely looking polo with amazing fuel consumption! A well looked after example driven with care by my wife and the previous female owner. I take care of my cars and with my pregnant wife and son using this car on such a regular basis I ensure it is in the best possible condition. The mileage is high but I would much rather buy a well looked after example than a 100K thrashed within an inch of its life daily.

An enthusiasts car with £1000s worth of reciepts and history.

I've owned it about 8 months but i have moved closer to work so i dont really need a diesel and i want something old school again.

Its now on 182k and in the time iv had it iv changed the oil and pollen filter, its had a new thermostat with a full g12+ change, I've cleaned the boost pipes inlet mani and intercooler and I've also blanked the egr off, its also had 2 new drop links, O/S bottom ball joint and bosch aero wipers.

Price is £1650 or swap for mk1 Golf, mk1 caddy, corrado or a G40

£1650 seems very steep for a car with 182k on the clock mate! I'm interested but wouldn't be willing to pay over £1000! Let me know if your interested.

No thanks mate id rather keep it, its been looked after i went to view a few of these with a lot less miles which i didnt buy cause they were a state.

And personally i think its had a lot more work done than what i have paperwork for but i have no way of proving it.

It's had more work done than you have paper work. Sounds like some ones going to buy this to spend.

Good points:Brilliant paint, leather in excellent condition, alpine ipod headunit with bluetooth module (£500 worth when new), JBL components, integrated ipod dock in centre console, momo 280mm steering wheel, electric windows, heated leather seats, auto spoiler fully working at 55mph, full stainless exhaust system, recently serviced, some history, cossie group A air filter new, spare splitter included, corrado vw mats from justmatz

Bad points: drivers side window a bit sticky, needs a bit of grease, little plastic thing has some play so 3rd in gearbox can be tempramental, cheap fix and common issue, could do with new mounts for backbox, nothing too bad. sunroof doesnt work as common corrado cable problem.

Location:birmingham/bournemouth - probably more birmingham these days due to work
