Would this be okay?

Featured Replies

Just wondering would my standard shocks suffer if I lowered my car 40mm front and back on eibach springs and what would the ride be like? Any help appreciated :)

I know it's been covered but I was only wondering what would the ride be like? Has anyone had eibach's..?

It'll probably ride better than factory, and it'll pass an MoT no problems. Only thing is you're better off using new dampers - if yours are nearly new then fine, but if they're getting on a bit then moving their travel position is likely to kill them pretty quickly.

I run shortened springs with standard-length dampers, but i've ran them like this since new. Eibachs are acclaimed to be excellent though, should ride better. The dampers govern the ride quality mostly anyway.

Cool, think il purchase them then. I was just a bit weary of the ride and I didn't want to buy a cheap shock and spring kit if the ride was going to be atrocious!

Can I get the dampers from gsf/euro? If not where can I get a set?

Yes GSF and ECP will stock them, check their websites for pricing.

Also worth checking on eBay for "polo shock", loads on there and are usually cheaper, I got front gas bilstein shocks for about £30 delivered and I'm pretty happy with them.
