I should of started doing this in April but I've been well lazy.

This is my first polo 1.0 e, pile of shite that I got off one of my mates for £400. Got some £100 budget coilies of off here and that's what it looked like. Loved the car, got me to Amsterdam, festivals etc and had done 110,000 plus miles.

Sadly crashed into a mate on a blind corner into a car park. Was so upset that I killed my polo. Where the car had been crashed on the same corner before the chassis was weak, due to this it folded onto the alternator and ruined the side of the engine. No point repairing it so I got it scrapped 2 months later.

Took everything worthwhile off of the car, rear bumper lights, heats, head unit etc. I even took of the stearing wheel once the car was of the ramp. The man from the breakers looked a bit annoyed, oh well.

Two weeks after I crashed my old polo I got this 1.4 8v. Only had one lady owner so was in good nic

I don't think I had had the car for even a week and I had put my old Coilovers on.I couldn't unjam one of my rear Coilovers so I had to leave the back of the car quite high, annoyed me so much :x .

I brought a rear wiper blank, a Gti grille and some yellow fog film. Was well happy with the results, only cost me £37 for everything i think.

Washed , clayed, and polished my whole car :) took me hours, then a couple more hours later it rained :( typical English weather lol

About a month ago a rattle appeared coming from my car somewhere when I was idling. When I got my mot done I had a look under my car and I had broke my exhaust bracket, in between the file pipe and cat, off of the exhaust. Paul, who done my mot put a clamp on it but I kept bottoming out onit. Last weekend my mate Jon welded it up for me with one of the oldest welds I've even seen! He did a decent job of it, still holding up and I bottomed out on it yesterday.

Got a couple of stickers for my rear window, wasn't sure with them at first but they've grown on me.

In the attemp to vinal wrap my roof matte black, my mate Matt ripped half the lacquer from my roof and door :( took me ages to start getting it resprayed because of how busy it's been at work. Today I went in half and hour early to sand and prep the top of the door for spraying.

The damage :(

Sanded the edge of the lacquer back

Got it preped and masked up for painting. There's a merk in the spray booth on axle stands so I had to get it sprayed outside in the work shop :( Door being heated before primer and paint.

My boss Tim sprayed it for me.

Paint :)

And lacquer :D

Tomorrow I will be flatting and polishing all of the shite out of the paint. Then I can finally put my heko wind defectors on which I've had for weeks nows.

Updates will come soon :)

Update:

There's good and bad parts to this update. The bad news is that i Spun out about a week ago when it rained because i had bald front tires. Couldn't get the car back under control, the back end was snapping from side to side, then we spun 270 off the roar and ended up in a bush, this is the damage :-( . Should of got some new tires but was waiting on some bbs' of a mate and didn't want to spend money on alloys I wouldn't be using.

IMG_0384_zpsbb168953.jpg

However on the plus side, I got some bbs rx2s from a friend of mind, and finally got round to putting my heko wind deflectors on :) . The front of my car is to low for them though, they scrub on the splash guard and on the wing if I have someone in the front seat :(.

Got two weeks off work from Wednesday so will be doing a service, changing my timing belt. Steam cleaning my Coilovers to adjust them and fitting polybush rear top mounts. Also I'm going to start smoothing a spare rear bumper I have.

Update:

Had two week off work so got some stuff long over due bits sorted on my car.

Firstly I changed my dented wing to a wing off my old polo which I had to buy back from the breakers yard. Dont have a picture of the wing on the car, looks pretty bad, i guess a silver one is better than a dented one for now. While the wing was off I took my front bumper off and sanded my headlights to get rid of that horrible yellow aging. They look good as new now :-D

Before sanding:

IMG_0393_zps0c687dd9.jpg

Sanded with 1500 wet with orbital sander:

IMG_0395_zps0f32933b.jpg

Polished with cutting compound:

IMG_0394_zpsc39ddbff.jpg

Next I changed my timing belt, never changed a timing belt before it took me a while. The crankshaft bolts are a pain to get off tho, they where well on there. Only thing that I had problems with was getting the tensioner right, it keep moving as I tightened the bolt, got it right in the end though.

IMG_0399_zps8414c792.jpg

Smashed my knuckle when I undid one of the bolts :-( , gave the engine bay a good clean, once I had finished the timing belt, to get rid of all the sanding water all over it.

IMG_0398_zps895cf844.jpg

I split a couple of my bbs' to give them a good clean and to polish the overspray that was on the centres off. All bolts came out easily with no trouble :-)

IMG_0403_zps30205182.jpg

Got some Wolfsburg edition centre caps from Gavin, who sold me the bbs'. Also took my Coilovers off to clean/un jam them to adjust them. They freed up easily after my dad got the steam cleaner working again, they were clean in seconds. Took the helper springs off the back coilies to stiffen the back up a Bit and so I could adjust them lower. Sadly had to raise the front due to scrubbing. Only got a before adjustment photo, will update with photos soon.

Next update should be getting door or/and roof sprayed so my paintwork is respectable again.

Evening, should of been updating this thread over the winter but i was to lazy to go on the computer, and my ipad doesnt allow you to upload photos to photobucket. cant remember when everything happened so ill just list it all.

Firstly i referbed my old alloys to use as winters so my rx2's didnt get ruined. Sanded them with 80, with an orbital sander, to get most of the curbing out. then moved on to 180 then 360. sanded the rest by hand with 600 wet and dry. At the same time i prepared a spare set of wing mirror covers that i had to be sprayed aswell. I smoother the plastic joint line of off them to, you wouldnt notice if you wasnt into polos.

IMG_0455_zpsf569698d.jpg

IMG_0456_zpscbf57f90.jpg

Got them all sprayed in jet black by my boss in return for my dad fixing his spaceheater, so it was free :)

IMG_0459_zps4414a9a6.jpg

IMG_0465_zps5c7c1c39.jpg

Got two winter tyres for the front two alloys, not the best picture in the world, but is shows them on the car.

IMG_0472_zpsd4aaabce.jpg

Next in line was getting my awful silver wing sprayed, felt like such a melon driving around with a silver wing. Got the wheel and splash guard off, then sanded the paint with 400 on an orbital sander, keyed the rest of the panel with red scotch.

IMG_0490_zpsf701e3f9.jpg

Put the car in the spray booth, masked it all up then jacked the car up to make life easier when its being sprayed.

IMG_0491_zpsfbc7350b.jpg

Painted and lacqued :)

IMG_0493_zps169fb874.jpg

Brought some pressed plates off of ebay for £24, they came in two days :) not putting them onto my car untill i have smoothed both bumpers though, also gave my car a quick wash around a mates.

IMG_0495_zps6be23e32.jpg

IMG_0499_zpsdbc3d089.jpg

Got some goodies through the post :) poorboys blackhole, dodo juice blue velvet panel pop and poorboys wheel sealent. Also got some alpine front door speakers and tweeters. A mate ruined one of my speakers when he was pissed in my car, turned the music up well loud and it made a tear in the speaker.

IMG_0504_zpsb8983a44.jpg

IMG_0505_zps41291da5.jpg

Next i flatted and polished the wing that i got sprayed to get the shit out of it.

Flatted with 2000 with an orbital sander

IMG_0509_zpse533b097.jpg

The products i used to polish it.

IMG_0511_zpseb83293a.jpg

First the P10

IMG_0512_zps094d37c3.jpg

Then the anti holigram.

IMG_0513_zpsbe839d0f.jpg

Followed by a coat of poorboys black hole and two coats of dodo juice blue velvet, amazing products for dark cars really do rate them highly.

IMG_0517_zps535954af.jpg

Fitted my alpine door speakers, as you can see the stock one was shot completely.

IMG_0518_zps37d6f928.jpg

IMG_0522_zps274af5ac.jpg

Went to a mates house one friday when his parents were out and split my bbs' ready for re- polishing and sealent.

IMG_0523_zps6897bb9b.jpg

IMG_0524_zpsb5ddc425.jpg

IMG_0525_zpsf9762353.jpg

Doing the washing up as you do on a friday evening

IMG_0527_zps1242b933.jpg

This weekend i began smoothing the rear bumper of my old polo, never smoothed a bumper before. Started by removing rub strips and sanding all the paint off. then i plastic welded all of the holes in the bumper up.

IMG_0542_zps80aa2b7c.jpg

Used fibreglass filler to fill most of the hole.

IMG_0545_zpsf8b0a21d.jpg

Then wurth light body filler to finish it, its not perfect yet however i had to stop using that sander due to it getting late.

IMG_0548_zpsf3ad8708.jpg

IMG_0552_zpseca8afc5.jpg

Thats what happened over the winter :) Will be updates soon.
