Ignore the other thread about why they knock and bodging them to stop it - I know why they knock.

The bearings are shit quality anyway, so id change them before you start,

they're also not a tight enough fit in the top caps so they knock to fuck, this needs to be addressed.

I got mine off german eBay, they crop up occasionally, expect to pay about £60 new.

no real benefit then other than the camber adjustment then, especially if the first thing i have to is change the bearing.

Ill stick with stock ones for now. no knocks and bangs.

I've got salzmann top mounts which are like those ones that you linked to - they are very good

Make some, or get the universal type.

I can imagine the salzman ones making the ride horrific, saying that nobody seems to give a fuck about that on here

i have those "g-laderseite.de" ones as posted above, can't say they made the ride "horrific" in fact most people comment how good the ride quality is in mine for a competition car.

there is a bit more road noise, but then again i wouldn't notice that over my solid engine mounts, lack of any interior at all and the fact theres 4 throttle bodies a foot infront of the windscreen

Cant see how they can make the ride horrific tbh because the stock top mounts are pretty useless anyway, more road noise I can understand as its a solid mount.

in fairness they are pretty loud, and harsh, but it depends as much on your spring/damper combination as anything. In the grand scheme of things they are fine in my context.

Yeah, I mean obviously the standard mounts arnt the most compliant of items, and it does heavily depend on your spring/damper combination, but rigidly mounting them is never going to improve comfort tbh :)

Comfortable seats help. Lol. Its why I was looking for poly bushes that were a direct swap and hopefully last longer than the standard ones.

Ah, right. I asked whether philj could get ay, as they were advertised as replaceable. But he necer replied on the thread Thinking of sacking mine off as I can't get the camber spot on and they are a pig to re-position

The bearings? I just assumed they were meant to be loose, relying on the weight of the car to keep them in place.

Still knock though as the strut moves back/forwards with drive takeup/braking
